PHE Officer - Bekaa Area

  • Act as the main focal point in the site supervision team, which will consist of a site engineer trainer in addition to trained and equipped volunteers;
  • Carry out assessments of water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities and prepare recommendations along with BOQ’s for required construction, repair, or rehabilitation works;
  • Responsible to intervene in any emergency response, which might include designing and installing lights, rapid and simple toilet, shower, hand washing, and water collection facilities. The scope of work will vary depending on the circumstances;
  • Close and direct manage a team of PHE trainers and equipped youth, ensuring oversight of daily work activities and performance objectives, and capacity building;
  • Involve in the capacity-building trainings of the selected youth and monitor the work progress of each;
  • Report directly to the line manager the day-by-day progress of the activities’ implementation along with achieved project targets;
  • Represent and participate in WASH PHE meetings.
  • Direct supervision of the efficient delivery of activities, including ensuring a high quality of construction work and ensuring that strict health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times;
  • Note: This position requires 70% presence on-site level.

 Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience degree in Public health, Development Studies, Water and Sanitation engineering, Environmental Health or related/similar field;
 At least 3 years experience in the social field or in any public health promotion activities.
 Knowledge and experience of a variety of sanitation systems in the humanitarian context;
 Strong abilities in planning and managing activities, Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with people from diverse cultures;
 Excellent communication skills;
 Excellent leadership skills;
 Fluent in Arabic and English languages is a must;
 Detail-oriented and highly organized.
