Programme
- Conduct detailed technical assessments of damaged housing units in target areas to determine required interventions.
- Conduct field outreach visits, door to door visits and assessments for eligible beneficiaries in target areas.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including: BOQs, Scope of work, MOUs.
- Ensure all designs and BoQs are in compliance with national shelter standards, donor requirements, and relevant building codes.
- Liaise with procurement/logistics teams to support the tendering and contracting process for shelter rehabilitation works.
- Conduct regular site visits to supervise contractors and ensure the quality and progress of rehabilitation works.
- Address any on-site technical issues in coordination with contractors and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure that health and safety measures are respected throughout the works.
- Oversee the final inspection and handover of completed units to beneficiaries, ensuring documentation is properly signed and archived.
- Maintain consistent communication with local authorities and beneficiaries to ensure engagement, coordination, and transparency.
- Support the development of technical tools, templates, and procedures related to shelter assessments and rehabilitation.
- Ensure emergency preparedness, response and mobilization is well arranged
- Maintain good communication and coordinate activities with all stakeholders
- Perform other essential duties as deemed necessary by the line manager
Reporting
- Keep close (daily) communication with Program Manager and update on activities
- Provide regular reports to the Manager and partner organization on project implementation progress (activities, progress, challenges and technical issues)
- Report monthly execution figures on internal, partner/donor tools.
- Support the Manager in preparation of periodic narrative/technical reports
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with relevant partner organization and departments (Protection, WASH, Logistics, MEAL, etc.) to ensure integrated service delivery.
- Maintain regular contact with municipalities, community focal points, and other shelter actors to align on interventions and avoid duplication.
- Respond to incoming referrals related to shelter needs within the area of intervention.
- Support joint assessments and collaborative efforts with other NGOs, UN agencies, and local partners when required.
