- Assist in identification of daily activities of HP volunteers
- Supervise the HP volunteers as needed
- Train, build the capacity and transfer skills to HP volunteers
- Assist in the introduction of new approaches, methods, and key messages to improve the quality HP activities
- Provide guidance to volunteers on field hygiene diagnostics
- Ensure HP activities are implemented as per workplan and as per donor requirements
- Arrange and participate in emergency preparedness, response and mobilization of volunteers
- Distribution kits/materials as per contextual circumstances and as per donor requirements
- Identify community cleaning campaigns needs
- Assist in establishing efficient approaches to deliver water trucking & desludging services
- Identify locations where alternative solutions can be applied
- Prepare monthly water trucking & desludging figures to be shared with suppliers before the start of each month
- Data collection for newcomers, newly inactive sites, seasonal migration of beneficiaries…
- Conduct regular on-site water quality checks
- Collect water samples from households, suppliers, boreholes…
- Liaise with laboratory service provider and follow-up on water quality monitoring.
- Build the capacity of community mobilizers/focal points to ensure community engagement in Services provision
- Assist and support technicians team in identification of water & sanitation rehabilitation needs in area of intervention
- Perform other tasks related to water and sanitation as requested by the WASH Officer, and provide support to other WASH teams.
- Provide regular reports to the Officer on project implementation progress (indicators, achievement…)
- Ensure coordination and collaboration with other departments in WASH in particular the Construction team
- Orient, assist and support HP volunteers ensuring quality compliance
- Assist in performing performance reviews of HP volunteers
- Manage and report any potential conflict (internal or external) of team under supervision
- Liaise with stock keeper on goods delivery and or out of stock requests
- Respond to incoming referrals related to WASH HP under area of intervention
- Construction: Liaise with construction team for the planning and implementation of construction works as necessary.
Knowledge/Skills Required:
- Previous experience in hygiene promotion is needed
- Strong knowledge of WASH sector hygiene key messages
- Strong knowledge of Water Trucking & Desludging procedures
- Previous experience in a similar role is an added value
