About APJM
The Association for the Protection of Jabal Moussa (APJM) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization created in 2007 for the conservation of biodiversity and preservation of the cultural heritage in Jabal Moussa Mountain and surrounding villages which are part of the Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve (JM BR) under UNESCO-MAB program since 2009. The Jabal Moussa mountain is located in the Caza of Kesrwan in the North of Mount Lebanon mountain chain, and is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna species, many of which are of high conservation value (endemic, rare, etc.).
The Mission of APJM is the conservation of the natural and cultural heritage of Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve through participatory and adaptive management, and the sustainable development of the local communities through the creation of income-generating and sustainable socio-economic activities.

Responsibilities
The Ecotourism Officer will be supervised by the Biosphere Reserve Manager, and will work in close cooperation with the APJM staff to carry out the following tasks:
Organize and manage visits to the JM BR: logistics, eco-guides schedule, ecotourism feedback and tracking sheets.
Coordinate closely with JM BR Guards, and create statistics on violations (hunting, quarrying, fires etc.) inside the reserve.
Develop an ecotourism package and educational kit for schools and promote it directly with school representatives.
Develop new ecotourism packages for adults.
Develop and implement an Action Plan for marketing hiking packages and attracting tourists to JM BR, while using the website as a platform.
Market existing promotional items and develop new promotional items for the marketing of the reserve and Ecotourism Packages in JM BR.
Monitor visiting rates and create statistics revealing trends about visitor information and satisfaction.
Assist in updating the website with ecotourism and awareness news.

Initial 1-year contract with 3 months trial-period.
The position might evolve into a long-term managerial position depending on proven abilities of the recruited candidate to attract new projects and implement them.
