Full-Time Gis Specialist/ Transportation Engineer

The American University of Beirut (AUB) - Nature Conservation Center (NCC) is seeking a GIS Specialist/Transportation Engineer for our Citizen Science for Improved Integrated Solid Waste Management program. The program works to characterize, optimize, assess, and implement scalable solutions in Bar Elias, Kab Elias and Marj municipalities for developing an integrated Solid Waste Management plan (ISWM). The objective is to provide economically sustainable models where revenues (or savings) can sustain the operational costs which include job creation for some of the village residents. Ideally, the GIS Specialist/ Transportation Engineer would have experience working with community members in the creation of digital maps. Project will mobilize within 1 month General Skills Ability to work independently and under pressure, while meeting deadlines, is a must Team oriented Good interpersonal skills Pays strong attention to detail Fluent in Arabic and English   Tasks: Design three customized ArcGIS maps with optimized waste transportation strategy and routes Coordinate with Municipality and community members to obtain necessary data and information Conduct necessary field work in the three towns in Beqaa   Qualifications: Experience with ArcMap and ArcGIS software Experience creating efficient transportation plans preferable Experience with resource microeconomics desirable
