Position Overview

We are looking for a Grants Writer to support our scientific research related to nature conservation, environment, and sustainability. This role requires a strong background in environmental science, natural resources, or any related field, coupled with demonstrated experience in writing successful grant proposals for research, conservation, education, and development projects. The Grants Writer will work closely with the Director, researchers, program leads, and external partners to identify funding opportunities, develop proposals, and ensure compliance with donor requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The Grant Writer will have to:

• Develop a business plan for grant development
• Identify grants and development opportunities for the Center
• Track grants deadlines, submission status, and donor communication
• Lead and coordinate the development of small and large grant proposals, including concept notes, full proposals, budgets, and supporting documentation
• Collaborate with researchers and Faculty members and support them with literature reviews, needs assessments, and data analysis
• Coordinate grants and proposals with AUB departments to ensure alignment with university policies and obtain necessary approvals
• Ensure proposals are aligned with donor guidelines and display adherence to the Center’s mission
• Create partnerships with local and foreign organizations in order to collaborate on projects based on the center’s research focuses
• Organize capacity building trainings and educational workshops for the center’s staff and AUB in general

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Conservation Biology, or a related field
• A minimum of 2 -3 years of experience in grant writing, preferably in a research or nonprofit environment
• Proven experience in securing grants from different donors
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Inter-personal skills, team player, and self-paced team member
• Knowledge of academic setting is a plus
• Fluency in English
• French and Arabic are assets
