Protection Specialist

The Protection Specialist will: Supervise CP/GBV activities in static and mobile Child Friendly Spaces/ Women Safe Spaces Build strategic partnerships on field Supervision and technical support for field staff and Officers in charge Submit ad hoc protection report to the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer To support technically each Field Officer in improving their performance Under delegation from the Project Manager, coordinate AVSI’s activities with other health stakeholders in Marjayoun and Nabatiyeh Assist Program Manager in the development and/or procurement of guidelines and supplies required for program activities Closely coordinate with Senior Field Manager and field support team  to ensure timely and compliant implementation of program activities and expenditures Deliver trainings and ongoing mentoring and coaching for local partner staff and selected health facilities on key GBV/CP response and prevention topics Continually assess and adjust program design and interventions with Program Manager in order to address ongoing needs of the population Contribute to internal and donor reports as per set schedules (bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually) on activities, indicators and achievements. Participate in the liaison with local authorities, NGOs and other stakeholders under delegation from the Project Perform any other relevant duties as required     Preferred Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a discipline relevant to social sciences, humanities, development studies with at least 3 year of experience OR a Master Degree in any other major with at least 2 years of experience 2-3 years professional experience in community-based Protection or GBV programming, preferably in an emergency context Computer skills and report writing experience Experiences in health education and nutrition Networking and team building skills will be required. Mother tongue Arabic speaker Good knowledge of English and/or French language – spoken and written skills. Valid driving licence (2 years minimum) willing to travel locally (Nabatiyeh, Marjayoun districts)
