The WASH Specialist will:
Supervise WASH activities on field
Build strategic partnerships on field
Supervision and technical support for field staff and Officers in charge
Submit ad hoc protection report to the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer
Assist Program Manager in the development and/or procurement of guidelines and supplies required for program activities
Diverse and complex problem-solving, requiring professional knowledge field experience and an understanding of development and humanitarian work
Contribute to make complex technical information accessible and usable by non-specialist (es. Data sharing with M&E Officers)
Attend the WASH coordination meeting at local and national level
Closely coordinate with Senior Field Manager and field support team to ensure timely and compliant implementation of program activities and expenditures
Deliver trainings and ongoing mentoring and coaching for local partner staff and selected health, CP and education facilities on key WASH prevention topics
Continually assess and adjust program design and interventions with Program Manager in order to address ongoing needs of the population
Contribute to internal and donor reports as per set schedules (bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually) on activities, indicators and achievements.
Participate in the liaison with local authorities, NGOs and other stakeholders under delegation from the Project
Perform any other relevant duties as required
Preferred Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Water Management, Civil or Environmental Engineer
2-3 years professional experience in WASH programming, preferably in an emergency context
Computer skills and report writing experience
Networking and team building skills will be required
Mother tongue Arabic speaker
Good knowledge of English and/or French language – spoken and written skills.
Valid driving licence (2 years minimum)
willing to travel locally (Nabatiyeh, Marjayoun and Saida districts)
