Title: Head of the Arts Program
Reports to: The Executive Director
Summary: The Head of the Arts Program assumes all aspects of the management of Ayadina Association’s Visual and Performing Arts Program
Duties and Responsibilities:
Teachers
Interviews teacher candidates and makes hiring recommendations to the executive director
Works closely with the teachers and provides leadership
Makes effort to retain teachers
Establishes best practices for teachers in the program
Organizes teacher training when needed
The Arts Program
Is instrumental in the continuous development and improvement of the arts program
Ensures that the agreed upon curriculum is implemented in all classes
Observes classes for their effectiveness and present monthly informal reports to the executive director
and formally twice yearly to the board of trustees
Administrative
Sets the yearly calendar for the arts program
Recruits students to the program through campaigns and linking with neighboring schools and local NGOs
Establishes rules of conduct for everyone in the program
Follows up on student attendance and makes effort to prevent student drop outs
Maintains regular and punctual attendance and working hours
Grants and Donations
Seeks grants for the program and keeps donors updated
Requirements
Comprehensive knowledge of performing and visual arts
Extensive experience in the field of arts education
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English and Arabic, French is an asset
Strong team building skills
Ability to motivate teachers to achieve the desired outcome for each course
A bachelor’s degree is a minimum
