Balsam – Lebanese Center for Palliative Care Full Time Registered Nurse: Job Description and Qualifications   The Lebanese Center for Palliative Care – Balsam - is a non-governmental organization that aims to relieve the suffering and improve the quality of life of people with life threatening or life limiting illness through patient care, advocacy, capacity building and research. Balsam is looking for nurses who can be part of the interdisciplinary team providing palliative care services to terminally ill patients in their homes in Greater Beirut. Applicants should be interested in palliative care and community work. Responsibilities include: - Taking referrals from the patient’s family or caregiver including collecting history of medical problems and previous treatments - Coordinating discharge of patients from medical institutions to his/her home including transportation, arranging for medical supplies and equipment and coordinating additional services needed. -Conducting a thorough physical and psychosocial assessment and Identifying and prioritizing the patient’s chief complaints - Developing and administering a plan of care in conjunction with the patient, family, and healthcare providers in coordination with the patient's and Balsam's physicians - Providing education to patients, families, and others about palliative care (symptom management…) - Documenting care provided on progress note sheets and keeping them updated - Participating in end of life discussions and teaching patients' families about sign and symptoms of imminent death - Providing support to bereaved families according to Balsam’s bereavement policy and assisting in identifying complicated grief and making referrals accordingly   Required qualifications: Degree: Bachelor or Master's Degree in Nursing Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in nursing (ICU, Oncology, or ER experience preferred) Languages Skills:  Fluency in Arabic and English Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Salary: Competitive and based on educational level and years of experience N.B: Nurses are expected to provide call coverage on nights, weekends and holidays Owning a car is necessary   How to Apply: Interested candidates must send their CVs and cover page to this email: doughanroula@gmail.combefore the 18th of April 2016.
