About the Civil Society Enablement unit:

The CSEU at Basmeh & Zeitooneh started in 2018 to develop the capacities of local community-based organizations, civil society organizations, and initiatives to enhance their skills and provide them with the necessary support that addresses community issues and focuses on enhancing awareness and empowering individuals and groups in civil society.

Scope of work:

Effective communication is a fundament of successful advocacy, partnership building, and community engagement. Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) often operate in complex and sensitive contexts where empathetic, and strategic communication is key to reaching their goals. To address this need,the Civil Society Enablement Unit seeks to enhance the communication capacities of 7 CSOs through a targeted Communication Skills Training.

To enhance participants’ professional communication abilities, empowering them to communicate effectively, engage stakeholders and influencers, represent their organizations, and enable them to more effectively deliver their messages.

Communication Skills Content Areas:

• Communicate with Clarity and Confidence
• Develop the ability to articulate ideas clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats across various professional settings.
• Engage Stakeholders and Influencers
• Learn strategies to tailor communication approaches for different audiences, building trust and rapport with stakeholders, partners, and key influencers.
• Represent Their Organizations Effectively
• Strengthen skills in public speaking, presentations, and interpersonal communication to serve as credible and persuasive representatives of their organizations.
• Deliver Messages with Impact
• Craft and convey compelling messages that are well-structured, audience-appropriate, and aligned with organizational objectives.
• Navigate Challenging Communication Scenarios
• Gain tools for handling difficult conversations, resolving misunderstandings, and giving/receiving feedback constructively.
• Enhance Professional Presence
• Improve non-verbal communication, active listening, and emotional intelligence to boost overall communication effectiveness and professional image.

Responsibilities/ Objectives:

• Training curriculum and materials according to the CSOs capacity assessment.
• Results and the first party recommendations.
• Prepare the training agenda and schedules.
• Conduct of training sessions (3 - 4 Days)
• Conduct pre and post assessment.
• Prepare and provide a training report.
• Provide a detailed invoice.
• Provide the requested attendance sheets.
• Provide a copy of her\his ID or Passport.
• Prepare a general quiz on each topic about 10 questions each to be delivered for the participant.
• Ensure all topics to be covered in Arabic including training materials.

Required Qualities/ (Profile needed)

• Proven experience in delivering communication skills training, and capacity building for Civil Society Organizations, with a focus on engaging effectively stakeholders and influencers.

Required Skills:

• Ability to conduct and facilitate online training.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the context.
• Excellent interpersonal, coaching, communication and analytical verbal and writing skills in Arabic.
• Fluency in Arabic required for the training.
• Ability to achieve the training outcomes within the specified schedule.
