Advocacy-Data Analyst

Basmeh and Zeitooneh works on relief and development in Lebanon and Turkey. Late last year we decided to embed and expand our advocacy efforts by setting up a department dedicated to both advocacy and research. For this new department, we are looking to hire a Data Analyst.   Core Responsibilities   Designing and implementing quantitative research projects that contribute to the development of successful advocacy work Contributing to the development of issue-specific advocacy strategies and messaging around regional human rights issues and policy initiatives Supporting the Department’s Research Officer with field research, background research, and Arabic-English translation   In the coming year one of the key topics will be access to education.   Education and Skills Required   University degree or equivalent knowledge in information science, economics, mathematics, statistics or related field Excellent command of Excel and other data management systems, such as Power BI and CARTO Builder, for complex data analysis, as well as experience in managing data quality Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken) is essential Demonstrated ability to design and implement quantitative research projects Demonstrated creativity, ability to apply innovative thinking and problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal skills and sensitivity in communication with people from different backgrounds Excellent analytical and reporting skills   How to Apply   Interested candidates are requested to submit 1) a cover letter, 2) their CV with the contact details for two referees and 3) a two-page writing sample.
