Basmeh & Zeitooneh is a registered Lebanese organization, committed to serving refugees and vulnerable communities in Lebanon, through four community centers across the country. The organization runs educational, relief, livelihoods, and protection programs, and aims to serve as an inclusive and supportive focal point for the entire community.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Livelihood Technical Manager and the Livelihood Project Manager, the Agricultural trainer will provide technical support for the implementation of the “input supply vouchers project” to support small-scale farmers in the Bekaa region.
DETAILED OBJECTIVES AND TASKS
- Deliver Trainings and awareness sessions adapted to the needs of small-scale farmers (180 Farmers) on the proper use of the input supplies (seeds, fertilizers, Irrigation systems, etc.)
- Provide recommendations to the farmers on the types of input supplies needed for their plots.
- Introduce farmers to GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) which ensure safe and healthy food while taking into account economic, social and environmental sustainability.
- Inform farmers about easy diagnostic tools for insects and diseases and new pest management practices.
- Encourage farmers in conserving the biodiversity and implementing techniques that conserve soil and water.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Agricultural Engineering
- Previous experience in Trainings to Farmers
- Lebanon
- Beqaa
