Job Purpose :

Under the supervision of the project manager, the Agriculture Field Officer is responsible for the daily technical execution, supervision, monitoring, and reporting of the field activities (Cash for training, technical training to farmers and agricultural workers, assessments of agricultural needs, creation and training of producer groups) and for ensuring proper coordination with stakeholders, municipalities, other authorities, participants and related B&Z departments, as well as for supporting the food security and livelihoods activities and the general humanitarian effort of the organization. The position requires extensive fieldwork and movement in Sahel Akkar governorate northern Lebanon.

Major Activities:

The Field officer shall be implementing the following Activities:

• Actively engage the participants and ensure the appropriate selection of the target population and implementation of the project under the guidance of the project manager.
• Support in designing the agriculture activities (technical and managerial training for agriculture workers and farmers, farmer producer groups set up and training, needs assessment for small farmers, conducting exposure visits, etc.)
• Support in designing appropriate training methods and materials to be provided to project participants and provision of training.
• Ensure implementation of project deliverables with the project team as per project design (assessments, target selection, distribution of agricultural inputs (equipment and other material) distribution, design and set up of agricultural training, etc.)
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders (Farmers, Technical consultants, and partners, Cooperatives, and Municipalities) to ensure appropriate programming strategies are developed and refined for the target population
• Prepare and conduct training for small-scale farmers to revitalize their production and accelerate their businesses, to increase farmers’ technical and managerial skills through producer groups and other formations
• Visit target communities on a regular basis to discuss with farmers their problems and experiences and learn about communities and agricultural practices relevant to the increased production of agricultural products. Conduct site visits, focus group discussions and ,key-informant interviews upon request
• Support in the briefing and induction sessions 
• File, document, and report work progress to his/her line manager on weekly basis.
• Monitor the conformity of the field works (trainings, field visits, meetings.) with the standards of B&Z, and as per the agreed activity planned, BoQs and ,contracts.

Education & Experience:

• Agricultural Sciences (preferably Agronomy, Agriculture Engineering, and/or Agriculture Marketing).
• Previous experience: two-year experiences working in the agriculture sector (farmers organizations, small-scale farmers, crop production and improvement)
• Experience in humanitarian and development organizations is desirable.

It is essential to possess a valid driver's license.
