Basmeh & Zeitooneh is a registered Lebanese organization, committed to serving refugees and vulnerable communities in Lebanon, through four community centers across the country. Basmeh & Zeitooneh (B&Z) is hiring a Civil Society Enablement Project Coordinator to be based full-time in Beirut at the B&Z HQ in Furn El Chebbak.
Reports To: Civil Society Enablement, Programs Manager.
Job Purpose :
Women LEADERS is a program designed by a consortium of three context-and-impact oriented organizations that are working in the framework of this consortium to support and strengthen women-led civil society organizations and women-led initiatives working on critical human and women’s rights and protection issues and to promote and protect access to equitable services. The consortium’s joint program (WOMEN LEADERS - Women Lead, Engage and Advocate for Democracy and Rights) will target 6 Women-led Civil Society Organizations (WLCSOs) and 6 Women-led initiatives (WLIs) active in the field of women’s rights and empowerment and will be based on three main pillars: Capacity Strengthening, the provision of subgrants as well as advocacy. This action will seek to engage stakeholders and power structures at sub-national, national, regional, and international levels.
The Project Coordinator (PC) is therefore responsible for planning, coordinating, leading, and controlling the project performance while empowering the diverse stakeholders involved and targeted by this strategic intervention. The Project Coordinator is also responsible for overseeing the enrolled initiatives and supporting their development in order to pursue an extended sustainable impact on this intervention, with constant coordination and involvement of partners and donors, beneficiary participants, different departments, and units in B&Z as well as domestic and relevant stakeholders. Moreover, the PC will remain responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the execution of the needs assessment as well as the regular production of context analysis.
Major Activities :
- Provide the overall management, vision, and direction of the Women LEADERS Project, including the planning, programmatic and financial implementation, internal and external programmatic, progress and financial reporting, as well as performance monitoring and evaluation; in accordance with the project plans, description of the intervention activities and the relevant contractual agreements.
- Ensure that the expected results, deliverables, outputs, and impact aspects are met throughout the project.
- Maintain the constant inclusion and involvement of - as well as coordination with - relevant peers and partners’ representatives in addition to ensuring the healthy flow of information among the consortium members and the consortium’s Project Management Unit.
- Maintain a healthy liaison with the relevant team members, such as country programmatic and operations teams, support services teams, communication and fundraising teams, front line and community centers’ teams, as well as senior management and executive board members.
- Develop and relevantly adjust the necessary relevant productions, including staff job descriptions and terms of reference, detailed operational and control plans, risk registry, risk analysis, and risk mitigation plans, relevant call(s) for applications, information sessions presentations, and MoUs.
- Develop and maintain the synchronicity of the programmatic, operational, and financial trackers and record-keeping tools.
- Develop the internal and external programmatic progress reports according to the set timeframes as well as maintain comprehensive project documentation of the produced reports and their relevant annexes and means of verification.
- Maintain purposeful participation and healthy relationship with the relevant and potential partners and donors, through the participation in meetings, workshops, events, site visits, webinars, and conventions and through the collaboration in the jointly-produced productions such as plans, proposals, reviews, reports as well as other types of public publications.
- Provide data, information, results, plans, and briefs serving the proposal development process.
- Ensure and maintain the quality delivery of the project activities in complementarity with B&Z’s local and regional programs, interventions emergency plans, and response
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Develop relevant management procedures within the team; Improve information flows within the project and with other departments and projects; support and work with the relevant team members to reach quality results, and coordinate and create links between team members
- Oversee and contribute to the activities related to advocating for women's rights in deep coordination with the consortium’s advocacy focal points and B&Z Advocacy Unit
- Attend country-level meetings and participate in program/project developments and designs by providing insight and context.
- Guide and assist the relevant trainers, consultants, and coaches in developing curriculums and materials used in capacity building.
- Ensure timely and effective grants distribution for quality and impactful project implementation, and identify and employ the relevant monitoring tools and procedures.
- Ensure and promote the protection mainstreaming among the beneficiary initiatives.
- Participate in the relevant meetings with the consortium members.
People Management:
- Design and draft the project teams’ job descriptions.
- Line-manage the project team members according to B&Z policies and procedures
Education & Experience :
- The ideal candidate is expected to hold a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Business Development, Sustainable Development, or any relevant academic field. A Master’s degree in a relevant field will be considered a plus.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in a relevant position is necessary (a reference check will be conducted, according to HR Unit judgment).
- A relevant work experience in promoting or advocating for women's rights and women's participation will be considered a plus.
