- To Interview beneficiaries to obtain employment history, educational background, career objectives, participants evaluation of program experience, and to assess their employment needs
- Mapping of job opportunities for previous coding participants
- Liaising with potential employers of previous vocational graduates
- Workshops held with previous coding participants to help them access the job market
- Ongoing assessment of participants who have secured jobs as a result of activities
- To identify barriers to employment and assist participants to develop job readiness skills and job search
- To collect labor market information for partcipants regarding job opening, entry and skill requirements and any other occupational information: (what companies and industries are in the area, what skills and experience local area employers prefer and require, what is the usual means of entry into those companies/industries, advice participants on how best apply)
- To assess need for additional assistance such as further vocational training and make appropriate referrals
- To provide counseling assistance in the areas of: Job saving, job search, job placement, job creation, career decision making, or other identified employment needs
- To assist participants with resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation…etc
- To support and monitor participants as they progress through their Employment Plans
- To support participants in accessing programs such as literacy training, second career, job creation, partnership or self-employment benefit
- To follow up with participants at appropriate intervals to assess progress and record outcomes
- To maintain file case notes and appropriate documentation about participant’s progress
- To enter accurate participants data into designated reporting system and to update as needed
- To submit reports as required
- To assist participants in the use of resources and technology for job search activities
- To undertake any other duties commensurate with the post as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Previous experience in job counselling
- Previous experience providing employment services in the sectors of: IT, construction,
- Understanding of the structural, social and financial struggles of vulnerable job-seekers
- Patience and positive attitude is highly requested
- Strong market and private sector knowledge
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent command of written and oral English and Arabic
- Good Presentation skills
