Field Communication Officer

Basmeh & Zeitooneh is a registered Lebanese organization, committed to serving refugees and vulnerable communities in Lebanon, through four community centers across the country. The organization runs educational, relief, livelihoods, and protection programs, and aims to serve as an inclusive and supportive focal point for the entire community.

Basmeh & Zeitooneh (B&Z) is hiring a Field Communication Officer to be based full-time in Beirut at the B&Z HQ in Furn El Chebbak.

Duties and responsibilities

• Cover all programs activities across Lebanon
• Scheduled weekly visitations to our centers in Beirut, Bekaa and Tripoli, and other areas when needed
• Capture impactful photographs and videos of the different activities, in line with B&Z communication guidelines and protection policy
• Create short videos for social media use and sharing with B&Z donors and partners
• Interview participants in different programs, adults and children and deliver impactful stories from the field
• Serve as point of contact between the field teams and the communication unit to stay up to date on the progress of programs on the field
• Organize and archive all materials produced and collected.
• Accompany journalists and researchers during field visits
• Perform other tasks under the communication unit as assigned.

Skills and qualifications

• BA in Communication, Journalism, Radio/TV, PR, or relevant field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
• Excellent photography skills 
• Good photo and video editing skills
• Excellent writing skills in both Arabic and English
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to build a rapport with a wide variety of people
• Organized and can deliver work within timelines
• Can work independently as well as within a team
• Experience in the humanitarian field is a must
• Good knowledge of the humanitarian context in Lebanon and of the situation of Palestinian and Syrian refugees and their host communities in the country.
• Preferably owning a car.
