Field Officer (1x Beirut / 1x Tripoli )

Basmeh & Zeitooneh is a registered Lebanese organization, committed to serving refugees and vulnerable communities in Lebanon, through four community centers across the country. The organization runs educational, relief, livelihoods, and protection programs, and aims to serve as an inclusive and supportive focal point for the entire community.

Project Brief : 

The project is to contribute to the empowerment of young women through informed decision-making, better employability, and linkages with the private sector in Lebanon. This will be done through high-quality career services and life skills training improving the employability of young women through suitable job placement and/or vocational training and stabilizing micro and small enterprises.

Job Purpose :

Support to Micro and Small Enterprises, life skills, vocational and technical training, and career counseling, North Lebanon (Tripoli and surroundings), BML Nabaa, and Shatila refugee camp.

The Project field officer is part of Basmeh and Zeitooneh Food Security and Livelihood Program, the project field officer will be reporting to the Project Manager.

The project field officer will be a part of the team conducting a labor market assessment study, partners with TVET service providers, vocational training and soft skills curricula development, and technical capacity building and monitors the implementation of the training in coordination with TVET providers.

The Project field will support project participants and stakeholders involved with the project using recommended implementation approaches and methodologies. This position will facilitate participatory planning, implementation, and monitoring of project interventions in close collaboration with partners and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Project Manager while working closely with relevant stakeholders and assist in the day-to-day operations and implementation of the project’s activities.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager and implementing partners and provide needed support to ensure efficient implementation of the project’s activities.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement TVET activities
• Work closely with TVET teachers to ensure the quality implementation of the activities.
• Assist in curriculum updates as per the market needs and feasibility.
• Guide and track women's development through the different Livelihood pathways ensuring the linkage with the world of work.
• Conduct relevant research and provide technical expertise to support the program.
• Maintain project records such as databases, reports, and records of decisions.
• Ensure that all documents related to the project are properly filed and archived.
• Check and verify all the information about the participants and ensure avoiding duplications
• Report any faced challenges to the line manager.
• Collect complaints, refer them internally and report cases to the M&E officer/supervisor
• Upon request, perform any other additional duties assigned by the Project Manager in order to allow the organization to function optimally.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years of related experience in the field. 
• Familiarity with Livelihoods project.
• Aware of the local context.
• Ability to work with participants from different backgrounds and ages.
• Ability to capture women's needs and to deal with their challenging circumstances
• Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
• Spoken and written fluency in English and Arabic.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• A self-motivated team player.
• Able to prioritize tasks during tight deadlines
