Reports To: Project coordinator & Protection coordinator
Job Purpose:
Work to strengthen Basmeh & Zeitooneh’s gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response programs. Provide psychosocial support (PSS) to GBV survivors, identify their needs, and ensure safe and confidential referrals to appropriate case management or specialized services. Organize and facilitate awareness-raising sessions on GBV prevention and response, engage with community members to promote gender equality, and support outreach volunteers in implementing field activities to expand the program’s reach and impact.
Major Activities:
- Collaborate closely with the GBV team to design, implement, and monitor project activities effectively.
- Advocate for and introduce Basmeh and Zeitooneh’s (B&Z) integrated approach to GBV services to stakeholders, including institutions, centers, and community members.
- Plan and conduct psychosocial support (PSS) sessions for beneficiaries at Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS), community centers, and through outreach activities. Ensure all monitoring and evaluation tools related to the project are accurately completed and maintained.
- Familiarize with and support cash assistance initiatives, including Emergency Cash Assistance (ECA) and Recurrent Cash Assistance (RCA), where applicable.
- Identify opportunities for conducting awareness-raising sessions in safe and accessible locations, such as community centers or other safe spaces.
- Organize and facilitate focus group discussions on relevant topics when necessary.
- Ensure the safe identification and referral of beneficiaries to GBV caseworkers and appropriate internal or external services.
- Conduct mobile Women and Girls Safe Space (WGSS) activities in shelters, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for women and girls in need.
- Facilitate the establishment and support of women’s committees in shelters to empower women and promote their active participation in decision-making and community engagement.
- Supervise activities conducted within safe spaces, ensuring they align with GBV program objectives.
- Engage men and boys within the GBV-B&Z program to promote gender equality and address harmful gender norms.
- Contribute to the creation and regular updates of service mapping for the area of intervention to ensure caseworkers have accurate information about available services.
- Safeguard the identification and referral process for GBV survivors to ensure access to GBV case management and support services.
- Participate in B&Z-organized trainings, workshops, and meetings as requested by the protection coordinator or project coordinator.
- Prepare and submit timely activity reports and documentation to the GBV coordinator and project coordinator.
- Plan, monitor, and support outreach volunteers in their fieldwork to enhance program reach and effectiveness.
- Undertake any additional programmatic tasks as assigned by the protection coordinator or project coordinator.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Working within the principles of the Code of Conduct.
- Ensuring that participants have access to the appropriate service.
- Ensuring that the Foundation’s team interacts with participants within the principles of the B&Z, especially preserving dignity and avoiding psychological harm.
- Achieving the required number of participants at the end of the program while ensuring the quality of work.
- Ensure that a safe environment is provided for the child in the institution and the school.
- Create positive communication with the team.
Education & Experience:
- University degree in Sociology or Psychology
- Work experience of not less than two years in the field of psychosocial support
- Experience working with organizations
- Participate in training courses and workshops on protection (child labor, domestic violence SGBV, etc …)
