Livelihoods Technical Manager - Beirut

Reporting to: Chief Development Officer Line Management Responsibilities: None Technical Management: Operations staff in all locations Location: Based in Beirut with frequent travel to field location in Lebanon/Turkey   The Livelihood Technical Manager is responsible for providing technical support and supervision for all aspects of livelihoods sector, with the overall objective of improving the well-being of the beneficiaries.    Livelihoods Technical Manager will/is: Take a lead role in developing Livelihoods policies and longer-term strategic plans in line with the organization overall strategy in close coordination with the operations team Take a lead role in development of livelihoods programs including detailed budgets, based on the needs and organizations strategic priority areas, with an emphasis on the sustainability of programs. Responsible for the overall technical management of the livelihoods programs across the organization in Lebanon. Work in close coordination and Collaboration with other technical managers and staffs to develop necessary 
tools/guides for project development and delivery. Represent the organization in external workshops, working groups and other meetings relevant to livelihoods programme, strategy and policies. Prepare/Contribute to regular donor reports following specified formats and agreed schedules (internal and donors, other). 
 Work closely with the Country Director to 
identify staffing needs fort the livelihoods sector and take part in recruiting the necessary staff. 

 Participate in cross-functional assessment and appraisal activities for proposed project areas or activities, general evaluations of existing programs, etc. 
 Provide technical support to the operations team and monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of livelihood programs to ensure impact and sustainability Undertake regular field visits to the project locations (in coordination with the relevant operations staff) and ensures that the program is running in accordance with the project objectives, technical requirements and strategies. Propose modifications to program based on lessons learned, market studies, and analysis of program. Play a leading role in capacity building of the operations team to ensure they are equipped with required working knowledge and skills and adequately capable to fulfill their tasks with high standards and quality. 
 Requirements Must have a degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Finance, or any other closely related field. MBA considered an asset At least 5 years experience in the field of humanitarian and development with at least 2-3 years of livelihoods programme management. Excellent command of written and spoken English and Arabic. Experience in writing proposals and reports. Excellent computer literacy Excellent communication skills and a good team player. Excellent analytical skills   The successful candidate will be offered a one year contract with possibility of extension. Salary will be according to the experience and qualifications, in accordance with B&Zs salary scale.
