MHPSS Trainer ( Mental Health & Psychosocial Support )

Basmeh & Zeitooneh is a registered Lebanese organization, committed to serving refugees and vulnerable communities in Lebanon, through four community centers across the country. The organization runs educational, relief, livelihoods, and protection programs, and aims to serve as an inclusive and supportive focal point for the entire community.

Main Responsibilities & Tasks : 

• Conduct a 4 days training for 16 participants from organizations working on child rights.
• Conduct pre-post evaluations to assess the trainee’s knowledge and capacity.
• Conceptualize training materials based on the trainee’s background and knowledge (pre-evaluation).
• Liaise with the project coordinator and provide all required outputs on time.
• Submit a final report at the end of the training covering the 4 training days.

Qualifications & Experience :

• The trainer should be experienced in MHPSS or other relevant topics.
• At least 2 years of experience in implementing similar modalities of activities.
• University degree in psychology, social work, social sciences, and/or other relevant degrees.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
• Comfortable in communicating in the Arabic language; English for reporting is a must.
• Flexibility in working hours and willingness to work in different environments.
• Knowledge of Child rights standards or principles.
• Previous experience in working with refugees or/and vulnerable populations is a plus.
• Experience in remote work and online training.

• The Trainer must have the knowledge and practical skills to carry out MHPSS online training. The overall objective of the training is to improve the skills and knowledge of Local practitioners, working on Child Rights, in MHPSS.

Deliverables :

The expected outputs from the trainer are:

• Pre-Post evaluation for participants
• The training material includes the following topics:
  • Introduction to mental health and psychosocial support 
  • Guidelines on community-based MHPSS in humanitarian settings
  • Psychological first aid for children
  • Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse PSEA and child safeguarding
  • Self-care when working with children in distress
• Final report covering 4 training days

Logistics & Communication:

The project coordinator accompanies the trainer during the training days and in the preparatory period to provide logistical support and communicate with the trainees.
