Programme Manager – Peace Building Programme

Reporting to: Chief Development Officer Line Management Responsibilities: None Matrix Management: Project Team, Technical team, and consultants Coordination: Inter-departmental coordination is required.   The Programme Manager will play a key role in the development and resourcing of Peace Building projects for Basmeh and Zeitooneh in Lebanon and the region. The PM will work in close collaboration and coordination with HR, finance, operations and development departments to ensure a smooth implementation of Basmeh and Zeitooneh’s peacebuilding projects in line with organizational, donor and technical standards.   The Programme Manager: Will act as a focal point for the development of peacebuilding projects internally, among partners and with external stakeholders including donors; In close coordination with Country Director’s (CD’s) and other technical staff, will coordinate and ensure technical support to the  field operations team to ensure a smooth implementation of the activities and monitoring throughout the project cycle; Responsible for the matrix management of the field operations team, technical managers and consultant/s as per the agreed implementation plan; Oversee the project activities in line with the approved implementation plans and ensure any deviations, changes, challenges, and issues are addressed in close collaboration with the CD and the field operation teams; Responsible for the regular update of the implementation plans, developing/updating of contingency plans, advise the CDO/CD of the changing contexts and close monitoring of the security; Will represent the organization in external stakeholder meetings; Will participate in technical meetings, notably in the peacebuilding working groups/early recovery clusters; Will liaise with all internal and external counterparts of the project; Will coordinate the reporting process (as per the contract) and ensure high-quality reports are produced in a timely manner     Qualifications: Masters degree in international development, conflict transformation or related field; Extensive experience of overseeing, supporting and monitoring of large and complex peacebuilding or development programmes; At least 3 years of remote management and coordination experience; Experience in peacebuilding/conflict transformation concepts and familiarity with gender and conflict sensitive approaches; Excellent working knowledge (spoken and written) of both English and Arabic; Experience in delivering tailor-made conflict transformation and conflict sensitivity training to CBO/CSSO/and partners; Ability and willingness to undertake travel within the region.
