Job Purpose :
The Project Coordinator is responsible for overall project activities (GBV and cash emergency) implementation, coordination and technical support to maintain and expand Protection programming in Shatila and Borj Al Barajneh Palestinian refugee camp. He/She must be familiar with context, dynamic and governance structure in the Palestinian refugee camps in Beirut. Culturally sensitive and willing to visit both sites frequently as this position requires 70% of fieldwork.
Main Responsibilities:
- To contribute to the definition of the protection strategy for the B&Z protection program
- Provide updates and analysis of the protection situation in the area of operation.
- Lead the outreach strategy with the field teams and oversaw, with a protective lens.
- Promoting B&Z activities,
- Liaising with other stakeholders operating in the targeted neighborhoods and supporting community-led initiatives geared towards promoting protection principles.
- Manage emergency cash for protection activities and oversee internal and external referrals.
- Provide support to the development of potential assessments in new thematic and/or geographical areas, in order to expand the protection portfolio
- Support the design of potential funding opportunities for Protection programming
- Responsible for the appropriateness and quality of protection interventions
- Provide clear support and supervision and mentoring of the girl’s mentors and social workers through regular field visits, meetings with the staff in accordance with the recommendation of the protection program manager and PTM.
- Ensure that the services provided in the different projects adhere to best practices and global standards.
- Supervise the technical support in the LC.
- Support the integration of the Protection Programming with the other sectors, Livelihood, Education, Basic Assistance.
- Coordinate, supervise and build the capacity protection team
- Close coordination with the donor and sometimes daily to weekly updates by different means (text msg, whatsapp, email ..etc)
- In collaboration with HR and country protection program manager, support the recruitment of protection staff
- Build the capacities of the social worker and girls mentors through comprehensive need assessment and training plan
- Organize training and identify capacity building for relevant staff.
- Organize a monthly internal joint working group with all the key Protection staff.
- Provide technical guidelines and support to PM
- Provide direction to staff in the implementation of the work planning, targets, challenges, relative to the Protection component
- Support the Project Staff in the planning and the monitoring of the achievement of the activities, deliverables. Works with the PM on corrective measures.
- With the support of the Programme Manager, provide feedback on the monthly monitoring tool to PMs, notably on the technical part.
- Support the Project staff in producing high-quality donor reports (in their protection sections)
- Safeguarding and child protection:
- Ensure the best practices in B&Z safeguarding measures and child protection policy as well as code of conduct.
- Conduct refresher training and coaching session on CP and safeguarding to protection and no protection staff whenever needed.
- Refer to the Functional Supervisor in HQ for technical support and advice
- Fulfilling other duties and responsibilities of a similar level as needed.
Experience:
- 2 years of job experience relevant to the function, in a comparable environment with non-governmental organizations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience in delivering tasks according to tight deadlines.
- Previous experience in managing a team
- Previous experience in working with Palestinian refugees In BML camps.
- Previous experience in managing emergency cash projects.
- Professional experience in case management (CP/GBV)
- Good skills in anticipating problems and developing solutions; - Excellent organizational and planning skills.

- Willingness to travel frequently to rural field locations.
- Knowledge of English written and spoken.
- Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel as well accounting packages & other database competencies.

- At least 5 years in humanitarian assistance and 2 years of international relief and emergency experience in the same position,
- Experience in conflict/post-conflict contexts, with experience in supporting emergency responses, access and security analysis, and management
- Good expertise in protection, with a focus on CP/SGBV
