This position has been created as a response to the emergency situation in Beirut areas that were affected by the latest explosion.
The Social Worker implements activities and/or training in B&Z centers and outreach working directly with women, men, youth, and children.
Key Focus Areas
Strategic and operational
(Any additional task strictly related to the role and necessary for the implementation of the activities.)
- Conduct a daily variety of Psychological First Aid (PFA) activities throughout the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) catering to the needs of children and adults of different ages and genders and accordingly to the unit weekly schedule;
- Conduct awareness sessions with children, youth, men and women, accordingly to the mobile unit weekly schedule;
- Facilitate the participation of all the segments of the target population to the planned activities held at the assigned location, notably the most vulnerable ones (refugees, local community, youth, women, elderly, minority members, people with disabilities, etc.), ensuring that proper attention is paid to specific emotional and physical needs;
- Plan and design the PSS activities in collaboration with the Protection Manager accordingly to B&Z guidelines on PSS activities;
- Engage the volunteers in the planned socio-recreational activities held at the assigned location;
- Maintain daily attendance registers and a weekly and monthly inventory sheets for each activity conducted
- Maintain and fill properly any distribution list or attendance lists for the activities conducted or the distribution done
- Informs the supervisors about any difficulty met in B&Z emergency response
- Be available to participate in meetings and training in and outside B&Z Beirut office when requested;
- Identify individuals at risk and refer them to needed services.
- Accomplish any other assignments given by supervisors or the PM.
- Safeguarding and child protection:
- Ensure the best practices in B&Z safeguarding measures and child protection policy as well as code of conduct
- Conduct refresher training and coaching session on CP
- safeguarding to the protection and no protection staff whenever needed.
- Refer to Functional Supervisor in HQ for technical support and advice
- Fulfilling other duties and responsibilities of a similar level as needed
Experience
- 2 years of job experience relevant to the function, in a comparable environment with non-governmental organizations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience in delivering tasks according to tight deadlines.
- Professional experience in case management (CP/GBV)
- Good skills in anticipating problems and developing solutions; - Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Ability to deal with administration and documentation.
- Willingness to travel frequently to rural field locations.
- Knowledge of English written and spoken.
- Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel as well as accounting packages & other database competencies.
- Working knowledge of a range of donor rules and regulations.

- At least 5 years in humanitarian assistance and 2 years of international relief and emergency experience in the same position,
- Experience in conflict/post-conflict contexts, with experience in supporting emergency responses, access and security analysis, and management
- Good expertise in protection, with a focus on CP/SGBV
