Reading Session’S Facilitator-Shatila

“Book club” project: reading session’s facilitator This position would be a part of the “KNH” project. This project is going to include 390 children and 15 mothers who have just finished a literacy course, aiming towards social and personal development of children, adolescents and women in Shatila camp through the provision of recreational and cultural activities as a main target for the whole project. And emphasize the culture of reading, learning, and talent development through creative and interactive pathways. The “book club” facilitator’s duties and responsibilities: 1)- Laying a specific and detailed plan on the approach and training method followed in order to stimulate pupils on reading, also provide a proper feedback on the sessions later on. 2)- The reading sessions details are:                 - 19 sessions every two weeks for the children, each sessions contains 20 children.                 - A single session every 15 days for the women, each session contains 15 women.                 - Books distribution sessions for the public, 5 sessions a week.                 - Each session will last for an hour. 3)- Commitment to laying a clear plan for the sessions, in correspondence to the participants age groups, and carrying out the same plan. 4)- Implementing a friendly atmosphere for participation and friendly discussions through interacting with the participants, also creating a motivational spirit and teaching the children skills of asking questions, story telling and predicting the story’s events. 5)- Using interactive reading methods such as (reading puzzles). 6)- Encouraging young talents that may appear in future stages, through focusing on the points of strength and individuality that every child has. 7)- Maintaining the training environment as healthy and child proof as possible. 8)- Monitoring the progress of the participants and documenting the results of the project. 9)- Maintaining attendance sheets for the participants. 10)- Presenting monthly reports on the training’s progress, describing how much the participants are responding to the projects goals. 11)- Commitment to the organization’s policies and standards.   Requirements: -          Experience: 1 year in a similar line of work. -          Education degree: bachelor degree in social science or any related field. -          Fluency in Arabic and good command of English both writing and reading.
