Key Responsibilities
The Kitchen Chef is responsible to lead food preparation at the Bedayati Kitchen. The Chef will work under the direct supervision of the Kitchen Supervisor.
The incumbent will:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including breakfasts, mains and desserts,
- Prepare all orders in a timely and consistent manner following Bedayati recipes,
- Ensure that the food is of high quality, and is prepared in full compliance with food safety and hygiene standards,
- Arrange and garnish dishes ensuring good presentation,
- Ensure that kitchen assistants accurately prepare ingredients,
- Research recipes and recommend ideas for new dishes,
- Clean up the kitchen space after cooking meals, ensuring the prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of each shift,
- Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures,
- Reorder stock and food supplies
- Help organize the food inventory and storage and capture monthly food inventories,
- Assist in cleaning all kitchen equipment and facilities in line with food safety and hygiene standards,
- Train new kitchen assistants as required.
Required Education, Skills & Experience
- A culinary certification or degree from a culinary school,
- At least 5 years professional experience as a cook with good knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods,
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards,
- Ability to research and follow recipes and quickly learn new techniques,
- Fluent in Arabic, at least basic proficiency in English,
- Strong work ethic, a commitment to work excellence, and adherence to Bedayati core values.
