ACT SMART INNOVATION HUB – Cleanergy Accelerator Program - Outreach Partner

Context & Background 

Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Eco-system in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon. 

As part of the long partnership between Berytech and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Lebanon, ACT Smart Innovation Hub is preparing to launch the second batch of one of its accelerators, Cleanergy. 

The Accelerator Program's mission is to nurture and grow disruptive ideas, proof of concepts, and prototypes that share three common characteristics: 

A disruptive scientific or technological focus in any of the cleantech sectors: water, energy waste, transportation and agriculture. 

With a focus on solving Challenges in Lebanon but has Regional or Global reach. 

The possibility to scale beyond the local market. 

The potential to create sustainable job opportunities locally.

Requirements 

ACT Smart Innovation Hub seeks an Outreach Partner to deliver the following requirements: 

• Act as an outreach partner to scout amazing innovators in your regions and network and run activities based on your tools to conduct “ideations” and/or Support Early-Stage Innovators have quality Application to the Cleanergy Accelerator.

The activity to include: 

• Run Social Media and Mailing list Campaigns to increase awareness of Clean Technology INNOVATIONS and the Opportunity to Join Cleanergy Acceleration Program. 
• Support Berytech in promoting Clean Technology Innovations as a potential future for People willing to venture into this sector and attract Men and Women, of all ages including youth to participate. 
• Run an activity of your choice based on your tools of outreach and ideation to attract and support potential applicants. Could be: 

- Organize 1 Online or Offline event (could be over a number of days or half days, or several hours over time)   

- Attract at least 70 quality participants or 20 teams participating in the event. 

- Activity to be a minimum of 4 hours up to 3 full days of active engagement. 

- Activities to include engagement that focus on problem tree formulation identifying customers characteristics and needs, business model formulation, team formation and or others. 

- Support the top candidates in their application to the Cleanergy Acceleration; at least 3 activity winners should apply to the Cleanergy acceleration program. 

BUDGET: The Funding could be up to a maximum of $5000 USD. Approval of budget will be based on reasonable and viable proposals. 

Activity Timeline: June 4th untill June 30 2021.

Qualifications 

Previous experience in organizing outreach events with audience related to Technological Innovation and economic activities related to Clean technologies. 

Demonstrating ability to cooperate with local universities, NGOs, and civil society. 

Previous experience in organizing online or offline outreach campaigns. 

Demonstrating ability to develop relations with local decision makers and supporting entities. 

Demonstrating ability to recruit quality volunteers and interns for outreach events or startup support. 

Favorable Qualifications   

Previous experience in implementing projects funded by international donors.  

For online events: 

Previous experience in managing online events: scheduling, breakout rooms, visual support. 

Previous experience in managing communities. 

For offline events: 

Previous experience in managing ideation events. 

Previous experience in managing communities.

Technical Proposal: 

Description of the organization and previous experience in running such activities (1/2 page) 

Outreach geography and demographics (1/2 page) 

Description of the activity(ies) to be done (2 pages max) 

Financial Proposal: 

Description of the expected expenses split into the following: 

Staff cost (number of staff and man day rates) 

Social media / promotional cost 

Logistical costs (details) 

Award(s) for winner(s)
