Business Plan - REAF (Rural Entrepreneurs in Agrifood) – Incubation Program

Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Eco-system in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.    

The Rural Entrepreneurs in Agri-Food (REAF) program aims at strengthening the business and product viability of innovative startups tackling sustainable rural economic development operating in South Mount Lebanon, Central and West Bekaa, Southern Baalbeck and Hasbaya. The program will provide the startups with tools to transform their ideas into sustainable and profitable businesses. REAF’s youth training will enhance their entrepreneurship mentality and entry into the job market.   

The Accelerator Program's mission is to nurture and grow disruptive ideas, proof of concepts, and prototypes that share three common characteristics:   

1. A disruptive scientific or technological focus in agri-food, circular economy, sustainable agriculture, waste management and valorization.   
2. The possibility to scale in the local market and beyond that.   
3. The potential to create sustainable job opportunities locally.   

• Empower startups (11 within this cohort) with the knowledge and skills to develop effective business plans.

• Provide personalized guidance through one-on-one clinics to address specific challenges and opportunities.
• Assist startups in creating a comprehensive business plan.

The REAF Program seeks a Business Expert to deliver the following requirements:

• Conduct a half-day workshop on Business Plan development and the components of a business plan.
• Work closely with startups to understand their business concepts, objectives, and target markets.
• Guide startups in the creation of a comprehensive business plan, covering areas such as market analysis, financial projections, operational strategies, and risk assessment.
• Provide expertise in industry research, competition analysis, and financial modeling to ensure business plans are realistic and actionable.
• Offer feedback and revisions to refine the business plans, ensuring they align with the startups' goals and the overall mission of the REAF program.
• Provide mentoring sessions (60 minutes each) to each of the 11 startups, to provide personalized guidance and support.
• Conduct pre-engagement and post-engagement briefings with the Berytech team to align objectives and assess outcomes. 
• Provide written feedback on every startup's performance throughout the training.

• Deliver a comprehensive half-day workshop on Business Plan.
• Provide a minimum of 11 and a maximum of 24 hours of one-on-one clinics to the startups, with a distribution of hours as agreed upon.
• Assist the startups in developing a comprehensive and actionable business plan tailored to their specific ventures.
• Provide comprehensive content and materials that will be used by the entrepreneurs after attending the workshop. These materials will include detailed information presented during the workshop, additional readings for the startup to research and understand the topic more, suggested links and sources on the topic...etc. All these materials should be uploaded in coordination with the Berytech team to make them accessible for startups.      
• Conduct preparatory meetings with the Berytech Team to align the content of the workshop as well as the approaches and responsibilities under this agreement.  
• Submit a written report to the Berytech team outlining the progress and status of each startup, including recommendations for further improvement. 

The Pitching Expert should possess the following qualifications:

• Experience in business plan development, market research, financial analysis, and strategic planning.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey concepts effectively to startups.
• Track record of delivering impactful workshops and personalized coaching sessions.
• Experience working with startups or in the field of entrepreneurship and business development.
• Knowledge of industry-specific trends and best practices related to agri-food, eco-tourism, circular economy, and sustainable agriculture would be an advantage.
• Availability to commit to the program timeline and deliverables.
