OVERVIEW
Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Eco-system in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and the company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.
Berytech, in the context of the EU-funded project under the ENI CBC Med program, has launched the Support Program for Green Startups to help established early-stage green startup working on eco-innovative products or services.
Berytech is the partner of The Green Impact MED Project – Positive Investments for Positive Impacts (GIMED), an EU-funded project under the ENI-CBC Med Program aiming at supporting green entrepreneurs to better access finance and market in the Mediterranean. The project provides training, coaching sessions, capacity building workshops, and sub-grants to consolidate green business creation and green business development. The program follows a specific support methodology, the SwitchMed Methodology, to help green entrepreneurs better shape their businesses and come up with a robust green business plan.

SCOPE OF WORK AND REQUIREMENTS
- The trainers selected will deliver the green capacity building program, following the tools and methodologies suggested by the SwitchMed program, adding personal input and complementary suggestions to meet the desired outcome.
- A total of 40 established early-stage ventures will be part of the program and will benefit from the capacity building phase. The entrepreneurs will receive training workshops and will be split into groups, to go benefit from group coaching sessions that will provide them with tailored input between October and December 2021.
- Component 1 - Green Business Plan Development.
This component will cover the Green Business Plan following the SwitchMed methodology and will use the related tools and the online platform (The Switchers platform) to deliver the below:
- Review of the Green Business Model
- Operational Plan
- Marketing Plan and Access to Market
- Financial Plan and Access to Finance
- Legal structure overview
- Impact Measurement
- Component 2 – Eco-design
This component will help entrepreneurs re-think and re-design their existing products or services to reduce their overall environmental impact and to improve their sustainability.
- Component 3 – Pitching
This component will provide the entrepreneurs with the learnings needed to develop their pitch deck and their pitching skills. It will train them on how to present and deliver an attractive pitch.
Sessions’ format:- The three components will be given from October until December 2021 with a minimum of 55 hours in total.
- Typical length of each session is 2.5 hours to be delivered remotely with an average of 2 sessions per week (varying between workshops and coaching sessions). The 40 ventures should be divided into 4 groups after each sub-component to receive group coaching sessions by the trainers who will provide them with tailored feedback.
- Trainers should include tools, templates and resources provided by the SwitchMed Methodology and complemented by the needed resources suggested by trainers, in coordination with Berytech team. The trainers should also use the online Switchers Platform, where the entrepreneurs can build their green business plan.
- 2 trainers per session are recommended to deliver the program. Different trainers with relevant expertise can be invited to deliver particular sessions that require specific expertise.
- Sessions are expected to be highly interactive, customized to the profile of the ventures sharing ongoing feedback with entrepreneurs and followed by specific deliverables that will be reviewed by trainers for feedback
Coordination and complimentary support from Berytech:
The trainers are asked to share with Berytech a clear training curriculum, session details, timeline, methodology, tools and deliverables expected, for validation. It may be suggested to complement the standard training modules with supporting activities suggested and delivered by Berytech, such as pitching training, market research techniques etc.
QUALIFICATIONS- Experienced in delivering similar trainings or coaching for the empowerment of entrepreneurs with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Demonstratable knowledge of the various fields related to green business plan
- Experienced trainer who is comfortable with ambiguity and able to adjust the approach to the specific need of the client.
- Effective communicator with any audience in an organized, professional manner.
- Creative problem-solver with thorough attention to detail.
- Desire to deeply understand and empathize with our users.
- It is recommended to have at least 1 trainer certified by SCP/RAC able to follow the Switchmed Methodology.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Expert trainers or the training firm will be selected based on:
- The proposal and methodology suggested and fit for the program’s objective.
- Experts’ bio, proven track records and experience in the field required.
- Budget scope
As an expert, you can apply to either all the components with a group of experts that have the specific needed expertise (ex: Financials, marketing) or select sub-components that fit your expertise.

Note: If you wish to apply with a group of expert trainers to all the components listed above, kindly ensure that the total budget doesn’t exceed 20,000 Euros (at the bank rate)
