Call for experts – PHEMAC Go2Market Hackathon

The PHEMAC project is co-funded by the European Union under the PRIMA program. This project consists of creating an interactive IHUB platform which aims to capitalize on the results and best practices of the innovative projects carried out and those in progress linked to NEXUS and more particularly in the fields of water and agriculture in the Euro-Mediterranean region. PHEMAC will focus on best practices and projects related to farming system, water and food. PHEMAC has been designed considering already defined strategic priorities to develop the framework for cooperation in the MPC region and face future Water Ecosystem, Food and their NEXUS challenges through an open innovation approach supported by an enhanced public-private sector cooperation. Berytech is an implementing partner in Lebanon of the PHEMAC project and activities.

1. Bootcamp:

• The trainer(s) will deliver a 3-days intensive bootcamp on commercialization, innovation, growth and go to market strategies with a focus on IPR management in the Water-Energy-Food Nexus sector in the Mediterranean region, adding personal input and complementary suggestions to meet the desired outcome. The trainer(s) will support the 10 projects in preparing a pitch to present it to investors and partners.  
• Up to 10 projects from Lebanon will be part of the program and will benefit from the intensive in person hackathon.

The 10 projects will be invited to do an innovation pitch in front of potential up-takers of innovation, during the Phemac Innovation Week and the NEX-LABS Innovation Week in Lebanon end of September 2022.

• • Innovation commercialization in the WEF sector:
• Introduction of the WEF Nexus sector in Lebanon and the Region
• Market segmentation and market opportunities in the Mediterranean region
• Types of commercialization strategies and Go to market strategy (channels, customers, marketing strategy, partnerships etc.)
• Introduction to IP
• Business Validation
• Basic financial projections
• Go2market Pitch deck development

Bootcamp:

• The 3-days training will be given in person in Lebanon during the last week of September or first week of October.
• Sessions are expected to be highly interactive, customized to the profile of the projects, sharing ongoing feedback with participants and followed by specific deliverables that will be reviewed by trainer(s) for feedback. Experts should be able to provide customized feedback for participants to improve their final pitch deck.
• Trainer(s) should include tools, templates and resources in coordination with Berytech team.
• The trainer(s) are asked to share with Berytech a clear training curriculum, session details, timeline, methodology, tools and deliverables expected, for validation.

• Applications to this proposal can be from independent trainer(s) or a legal entity, from Lebanon or the region
• Different trainer(s) may be invited to participate to particular sessions that require specific expertise.
• Trainer(s) should be experienced in delivering similar trainings or coaching for the empowerment of entrepreneurs with a minimum of 5 years of experience in technology transfer.
• Trainer(s) should add interventions from experts having a demonstratable knowledge of the WEF Nexus sector.

The training material and content should be adapted to the WEF nexus sector. Examples and case studies on the WEF nexus in the Mediterranean region should be presented during the sessions.
