OVERVIEW
Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Eco-system in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and the company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.
Berytech is an implementing partner in Lebanon of the TRANSDAIRY project (‘TRANSborder Key Enabling Technologies and Living Labs for the DAIRY value chain’) funded by the European Union under the ENI CBC Med Program.
TRANSDAIRY, coordinated by the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” (Italy), aims to enhance the technological transfer among research, industry and SMEs in the fields of Key Enabling Technologies applied to the Dairy Value Chain, by the creation of Living Labs, the increase of institutional capacities through training, and the development of market intelligence for sustainability and consolidation of spin-offs.

SCOPE OF WORK AND REQUIREMENTS
- The trainers will deliver a training program on technology transfer, innovation management, IP commercialization, IP innovation, transformation of an innovation into a business in the dairy sector, adding personal input and complementary suggestions to meet the desired outcome.
- A total of 25 participants will be part of the program and will benefit from the training session. They will receive group coaching sessions in October-November 2021.
- The training program should include the below components:
- Component 1 – Technology identification, protection and commercialization:
- Dairy value chain overview and market opportunities analysis
- Business opportunity mapping
- Strategies of IP market commercialization of IP assets (TTO, Licensing, Joint Ventures, Startups
- Management of IP rights: Integration of the right IP tools and legal strategy that correspond to the market commercialization option. Overview of relevant case studies & best practices in the sector
- Component 2 – Development of a business model
- Developing the right value proposition
- Business Model Framework and development
- Competitive analysis and market strategy Featuring case studies: From idea to the Dairy Value Chain
- Component 2 – Development of a business model
- Component 3 – Building financial projections
- An introduction to funding sources (Private equity, Venture Capital, crowd funding, etc.)
- Building financial projections:
- Component 3 – Building financial projections
- Reviewing of revenue stream and cost structure
- Cost, risk and resource considerations
- Financial projections, valuation of the business concept and intellectual property
- Component 4 – Pitching
- Pitch deck development
- Pitching skills and presentation

- Sessions’ format:
- The four components will be given over 18 hours starting October 25th 2021, with a typical session length per day of 3 hours
- The total program should be split and delivered during a 2-week timeframe
- Trainers should include tools, templates and resources in coordination with Berytech team.
- Different trainers may be invited to participate to particular sessions that require specific expertise.
- Sessions are expected to be highly interactive, customized to the profile of the ventures, sharing ongoing feedback with entrepreneurs and followed by specific deliverables that will be reviewed by trainers for feedback. Experts’ trainers should be able to provide customized feedback for participants to improve their final pitch deck
- Coordination and complimentary support from Berytech:
The trainers are asked to share with Berytech a clear training curriculum, session details, timeline, methodology, tools and deliverables expected, for validation. It may be suggested to complement the standard training modules with supporting activities suggested and delivered by Berytech.
QUALIFICATIONS- Experienced in delivering similar trainings or coaching for the empowerment of entrepreneurs with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- A strong expertise and track record in IP innovation, commercialization and IPR
- Effective communicator with any audience in an organized, professional manner.
- Ability to provide dynamic training content in an online setting and keeping the audience engaged
As an expert, you can apply to either all the components or select sub-components that fit your expertise.
The training material and content should be adapted to the dairy sub-sector. Examples and case studies on the dairy value chain should be presented during the sessions.
