Freelance Writer - DAWERR Activity

Context & Background  

Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and the company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.  

This position will support the projects ran by Berytech under the DAWERR Activity, a 5-year Activity funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) with the goal to establish sustainable and replicable integrated solid waste diversion and valorization solutions in rural areas of Lebanon. 

Scope of work 

The DAWERR Activity team seeks a freelance writer (we are targeting independent writers only) to deliver the following:

Produce a total of 5 articles covering specific topics identified and shared by the Communication and outreach department of Berytech.

 Expected Deliverables  

Key Deliverables: 

• 3 sector overviews consisting of industry-related articles (combining online sources, interviews and studies), both informative and engaging content (1000+ words)
• 2 articles related to the program (700+ words)
• Timely submission of the articles

Requirements

• Conduct interviews with industry experts, startups and SMEs to gather information.
• Write clear articles to promote startups and their solutions.
• Write articles to bring awareness on certain topics related to waste and recyclables.
• Ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, images and tone).
• Go through review rounds with the Berytech communication department to finalize the articles.
• Ensure each article is well-researched, informative, and engaging to the target audience.
• Incorporate SEO best practices to enhance online visibility.

Qualifications  

• Proven work experience as content writer or journalist.
• Experience doing research using multiple sources.
• Excellent writing and editing English skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge in SEO best practices and content marketing experience.

   

Selection criteria 

Expert trainers will be selected based on: 

• Expert bio, proven track records and experience in the required field 
• Budget scope 
• Availability to deliver 3 sector overviews by mid-March
