Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and the company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.
The ScaleSmart program aims to support pre-seed or seed startups working in different sectors to scale up by equipping them with the knowledge and tools necessary to plan a solid fundraising path, matching them with investors and investment opportunities, and improving their chances of successfully raising funds.
Scope of workThe Fundraising Roadmap Expert will support a maximum of 4 selected startups through a several one-on-one clinics to help them define, prioritize, and plan their growth journey. The total number and clinics, and the total number of clinics per startup, will be decided later between the expert and the program team.
The consultant will be:
- Supporting startups in defining a clear and structured fundraising strategy and sequencing.
- Assessing capital needs in relation to growth objectives and operational plans.
- Guiding startups in identifying appropriate funding instruments (equity, grants, convertible notes, etc.) and relevant investor types.
- Aligning fundraising milestones with business development, traction, and performance goals.
- Advising on timing, readiness, and strategic considerations to minimize fundraising risks.
Consultant’s Deliverables
- Deliver the required number of one-one clinics, agreed upon with the program team, (Online or On-site), whereby each clinic is no less than 1 hour, 60 minutes.
- Conduct preparatory meetings with the Berytech Team to align the content of the work as well as the approaches and responsibilities under this agreement.
- Submit a detailed written report on every startup’s progress throughout the mentoring and conduct meetings with the Berytech team for verbal feedback.
- Provide comprehensive content and materials (if needed) that can be used by the entrepreneurs during clinics. These materials will include detailed templates, readings for the startup to research and understand the topic more, suggested links and sources on the topic...etc. All these materials should be uploaded in coordination with the Berytech team to make them accessible for the startups.
- Develop and finalize a fundraising roadmap and plan of action for each of the participating startups.
Startups’ Deliverables
After the module, the startups should have:
- A Fundraising Roadmap Document
- Clear fundraising milestones aligned with growth and traction goals
- Defined investor targeting and funding approach
- A minimum of 7-8 years of experience in startup fundraising, investment advisory, or venture capital
- Strong understanding of startup financing instruments and investor landscapes
- Excellent advisory, coaching, and communication skills
- Consulting, advisory, and training experience for similar programs at incubators/accelerators
- Availability to commit to the program timeline and deliverables
