Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and the company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.
The ScaleSmart program aims to support pre-seed or seed startups working in different sectors to scale up by equipping them with the knowledge and tools necessary to plan a solid fundraising path, matching them with investors and investment opportunities, and improving their chances of successfully raising funds.
Scope of work
The ScaleSmart program seeks an Investment Advisor to advise scaleups in their fundraising activities and process. The engagement includes one-on-one sessions with the startups over the duration of 2 months for tailored guidance on the below:
- Advise and support on the startup investment strategy (funding goals, funding sources, fundraising timelines, valuation etc...)
- Review and advise on the fundraising materials, including pitch decks, financial projections, and business plans.
- Providing guidance and advice related to the fundraising process, including due diligence and negotiations with investors and the structuring of investment agreements.
Consultant’s Deliverables
- Deliver a minimum of 2 one-on-one sessions with each startup
- Conduct preparatory meetings with the Berytech Team to align the content of the sessions as well as the approaches and responsibilities under this agreement.
- Submit a detailed written report on every startup’s progress throughout the mentoring and conduct meetings with the Berytech team for verbal feedback.
- Provide comprehensive content and materials that can be used by the entrepreneurs during the clinics. These materials will include detailed templates, readings for the startup to research and understand the topic more, suggested links and sources on the topic...etc. All these materials should be uploaded in coordination with the Berytech team to make them accessible for the startups.
Startups’ Deliverables
After the module, the startups should be able to:
- Navigate investor conversations with confidence
- Understand key investment terms and expectations
- Prepare for due diligence and negotiation processes
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, finance, or related field.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in fundraising and investment advisory roles, preferably with experience in startups.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the startup ecosystem, including funding sources, investor expectations, and fundraising best practices.
- Availability to commit to the program timeline and deliverables
