Sales and Marketing SEC - Food System Challenge –

Berytech is seeking to hire consultants that will be able to support Social Enterprise Cluster (SEC) in conducting a sales and market audit, develop a pricing strategy, and support the company in expanding its market presence as per the scope of the interventions mentioned below. Social Enterprise Cluster is a food social enterprise specialized in cooking and distributing food such as healthy snacks and vacuum meals to schools, NGOs, and elderly centers.   

Scope of work and Deliverables

The Consultant is expected to fulfill the following in addition to any other task required:

  1. Sales & Market Audit:
    • Conduct a comprehensive audit of the company's sales and marketing activities, including product portfolio, target markets, distribution channels, and competitive landscape.
    • Analyze sales performance, market trends, customer preferences, and pricing structures of current and new products.
  2. Market Study:
    • Conduct a market study to gather insights on customer perception, buying behavior, and price sensitivity.
    • Identify market segments, competitors, and pricing strategies prevalent in the industry.
  3. Pricing Strategy Development:
    • Develop a customized pricing strategy for the company's current and new products, based on the findings from the sales and market audit.
    • Consider factors such as production costs, competitor pricing, customer value perception, and market positioning.
  4. Pricing Model and Structure:
    • Design a pricing model and structure that aligns with the company's business goals, market dynamics, and customer expectations.
    • Determine pricing tiers, discounts, promotions, and pricing adjustments for different customer segments and market conditions.
  5. Profitability Analysis:
    • Conduct a profitability analysis to evaluate the impact of pricing strategies on the company's financial performance.
    • Assess the pricing elasticity and the potential trade-offs between sales volume, profit margins, and market share.

Deliverables:

  1. Sales & Market Audit Report:
    • A comprehensive report summarizing the findings of the sales and market audit, including product analysis, market analysis, and competitive insights.
  2. Market Study Report:
    • A detailed report presenting the market study findings, customer insights, competitor analysis, and pricing strategies prevalent in the industry.
  3. Pricing Strategy Document:
    • A customized pricing strategy document outlining the recommended pricing approach for the company's current and new products.
  4. Pricing Model and Structure:
    • Design of a pricing model and structure, including pricing tiers, discounts, promotions, and pricing adjustments for different customer segments and market conditions.
  5. Profitability Analysis Report:
    • Analysis of the impact of pricing strategies on the company's profitability, including insights into pricing elasticity, sales volume, profit margins, and market share.

The consultant will provide these deliverables within the specified intervention period after working closely with the company to conduct a sales and market audit, develop a pricing strategy, and support the company in expanding its market presence.

As part of the program’s Monitoring and Evaluation (ME&L) processes, the consultant is required to:

  • Deliver a briefing report to the program’s team.
  • Attending check-ins short meetings, if needed and required by the program’s team
  • Attending MEL induction meeting before the beginning of the session if requested by the program’s team
  • Conducting pre-post assessment, feedback and attendance as requested by the program team

  Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, MSc Degree Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Finance, or a related field can be beneficial.
  • At least 15 years of experience in similar projects.
  • Proven experience in delivering training and training materials and in coaching sessions.
  • Excellent communications and report writing skills.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic

How to Apply

The selected Consultant is expected to start his/her activities at the soonest after selection; the exact timeline and effective working days are to be set based on both the company’s and the Consultant’s availability not exceeding the end of November 2023. The total budget allocated for the intervention is within the range of USD 300/man-day.

Candidates should submit the following documents:

  • Technical (maximum two pages) describing the methodology to conduct the work based on the content suggested in section: “Scope of Work, Outputs, and Deliverables” elaborating it further.
  • Profile and project references (maximum two pages): A brief explanation of the consultant(s) background should be submitted (CVs shall be included as annex) along with project references on the topic.
  • Financial Proposal describing the expected renumeration and the proposed timeline and Days of intervention.
