SME Pitching Workshop– DAWERR Clearinghouse Bootcamp

Context & Background  

Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial eco-system in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and the company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.  

Under the DAWERR activity funded by USAID and implemented by ECODIT, Berytech has designed a 3-month incubation program to help 3 ventures build the digital Clearinghouse marketplace for recyclables, a digital platform for source-separated recyclables to match demand and supply while ensuring transparency across the solid waste Recycling Value Chains (RVCs).

The goal of the platform is to: 

• Facilitate the trade between buyers and sellers of recyclables. 
• Increase access to markets, raw materials, and fair prices. 
• Reduce transportation distances and costs, and eventually increase the price of recyclables. 

The 3 ventures are expected to develop the project plan and pitch it in front of a jury at the end of the program. They will be able to shape a concept for a new solution that could be integrated into their enterprise’s business offering or build on a prototype they have already started. Only one venture will be selected to receive a grant and develop the business. 

Scope of work 

The DAWERR Activity team seeks a Pitching expert (we are targeting independent experts only) to deliver the following:

• Advise the ventures on the structure, design, and content of their pitch deck to convey the information required by the program
• Train the ventures on a 3-minute pitch with visual aids (PowerPoint Pitch Deck)

   

Clinics Details 

• Provide 3x one hour 1-1 working/feedback session with each of the 3 ventures to finalize their pitch deck and prepare them for their pitching (a total of 9 clinics)
• Sessions are expected to be tailored to each venture

Qualifications  

• Experienced in delivering pitching training for SMEs (Small Medium Enterprises) with a minimum of 2 years of experienc
• Effective communicator with any audience in an organized, professional manner.\
• Desire to deeply understand and empathize with our users.

Selection criteria 

Expert trainers will be selected based on: 

• Expert bio, proven track records, and experience in the required field 
• Budget scope
