STAND UP! Project - Supporting ventures coming from Lebanon to explore international opportunities and access new market In France

Berytech, the leading entrepreneurship institution in Lebanon and a key regional player, brings 20 years of experience and successful local and regional track records in building and managing a dynamic entrepreneurship ecosystem for the creation and development of novel businesses. Berytech has a current portfolio of more than 30 pioneer innovation programs ranging from competitions to capacity building, acceleration, incubation, access to finance, access to markets in addition to initiatives to empower ecosystems, on a local and regional scale, in various sectors such as agriculture and food, water, energy, clean technology, green entrepreneurship, and circular economy, and social entrepreneurship, all involving ICT and new technologies.

Project Background

Berytech is launching The Textile soft-landing voucher scheme, in the context of the STAND-Up! ENICBCMED program Funded by EU.  This is an activity that aims to give early and growth-stage entrepreneurs in the textile and clothing sector opportunities to grow their ventures and access regional and Mediterranean markets and connections they need to expand into an overseas market and explore business opportunities and partnerships. 

Participating ventures will be matched with a hosting organization or attend conferences that will help them enter new markets and expand their business through customized business development, visibility and marketing services, and regional field visit opportunities.

Purpose

Supporting ventures coming from Lebanon to explore international opportunities and access new markets by:
• Assisting them through technical expertise and advisory to have a better understanding of the regional markets, trends, and opportunities  and explore the best strategy to access a specific market and scale their business operations 
• Facilitate exchange and meetings with local stakeholders to explore the business, testing &/or funding opportunities 

Scope Of Work

The hosting partner must commit to providing peers with relevant details of potential markets in their region and facilitate meetings with relevant stakeholders in addition to providing access to market expertise. 
 
The host offers: 
o Help to accelerate foreign companies' learning processes, help them make contacts in the new country, and provide access to the resources necessary to meet their business goals. 
o Specialized support and assistance by experts and advisors on strategy, marketing, legal, financial, cultural, and practical issues of doing business in the country of reference; 
o Fast track access to the local business community and stakeholders through facilitated meetings (meetings and networking events with customers, clients, partners, or suppliers) 

The Startup

Waste Studio is a company reusing advertising banners to produce bags for everyday use.
They recuperate advertising banners, tire inner tubing, seatbelt material, and more from the urban landscape; those get cleaned by hand with natural and environmentally friendly disinfectants and cataloged.
They work on combining materials in a sustainable design and manufacturing process where fabrics and advertising banners are individually chosen for every piece.

-Spain (Eligible territoires: Andalucía, Cataluña, Comunitat Valenciana, Región de Murcia, Illes Balears, Ciudad de Ceuta, Ciudad de Melilla)

-Italy (Eligible territories: Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Lazio, Liguria, Puglia, Sardegna, Sicilia, Toscana)

Deliverables 

• Support in developing a market Study to advise on efficient market penetration strategy (local funds, commercialization, export strategy, shipment price, competitive analysis)
• Support to legally register the vendor in Europe and know what the best practices are to register a company and export to this country, including shipment price, warehousing, etc. – Competition – potential Partnerships 
• Securing meetings with potential buyers, European distributors (galleries, grande surface), and potential investors to secure partnerships and business agreements
• Support in conducting research about funding opportunities: green business and funds in Europe that support green business entrepreneurs 
• Support in a phased approach (step by step based on self-financing)

The Hosting Organization will be requested to prepare an agenda in coordination with Berytech and the startup in question (including technical expertise, meetings, trainings, site visits, etc. and excluding travel logistics) and host the entrepreneurs for few days to execute the plan.
