Startup Market Validation & Customer Segmentation Workshop - DAWERR

Background

Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Eco-system in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and hi-level skills in Lebanon.

This Incubation Program is a program designed and managed by BERYTECH under the DAWERR Activity, a 5-year Activity funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) with the goal to establish sustainable and replicable integrated solid waste diversion and valorization solutions in rural areas of Lebanon.

Under DAWERR program, BERYTECH will provide business and technical assistance and other needs to support 6 incubated startup teams in validating their business idea and sharpening their business model.

Phase I is a two-month validation program. The program focuses on validating their product and business model with stakeholders and industry experts.

Scope of Work

The DAWERR team seeks a Market Validation and Customer Segmentation Trainer to deliver a 2 day workshops to help entrepreneurs validate or negate their riskiest assumptions on the prototype they have already created. The 2 sessions workshop will be delivered to 6 startups and participants will learn:

1-How to run a market/customer validation to:

- Identify gaps in the market based on findings (quantitively: data based, competitors, trends)

- Define what they need to validate, how to validate their riskiest assumptions (Qualitatively: customer validation, how to run interviews with the audience, tips on how to formulate questions, …)

2- Customer Segmentation session covering:

- Share the different types of segmentation models (market and customer)

- Approach to identify, size, and prioritize customer segments

- The different attributes used to evaluate and score each of the segments

- How customer segmentation will inform the next steps of your problem definition and solution design

- Target customers and customer personas

Workshop Details

  • Each workshop length is of 3-4 hours to be delivered online
  • Sessions are expected to be highly interactive, customized to the profile of the entrepreneurs

Outcome

Founders will understand how to research and analyze competition. They will understand how to profile their audience, how to reach them and understand the mechanics of the problem they are addressing, and how to validate their assumptions.

  • Expert trainers will be selected based on:
  • The proposal and methodology suggested, and it’s fit for the program’s objectives.
  • Expert bio, proven track records and experience in the required field

How to Apply

Candidates should submit the following documents:

- Technical (maximum two pages) describing the methodology to conduct the work based on the content suggested in section: “Scope of Work and Deliverables” elaborating it further.

- Profile and project references (maximum two pages): A brief explanation of the consultant(s) background should be submitted (CVs shall be included as annex) along with project references on the topic.

- Financial Proposal describing the expected renumeration and the proposed timeframe of the intervention.
