Tech Trainer – DAWERR Incubation Program

Context & Background

 

Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Eco-system in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and the company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.

 

This Incubation Program is a program  designed and managed by  BERYTECH under the DAWERR Activity, a 5-year Activity funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) with the goal to establish sustainable and replicable integrated solid waste diversion and valorization solutions in rural areas of Lebanon. 

Under DAWERR program, BERYTECH will provide business and technical assistance and other needs to support the incubated startup teams in validating their business idea and developing a MVP. Each startup team will receive customized and tailored support to advance their startup. 

 

Phase I is a two-month validation program. The program focuses on validating ideas with stakeholders and industry experts, help the startups clearly define a GTM plan, define their MVP and an action plan to start execution.

 

Scope of work

 

The DAWERR team seeks a Tech Trainer to deliver the following requirements:

  • Tech Trainer will deliver a workshop to assist the startups in defining and drafting an MVP roadmap with a list of features
  • Tech trainer will be working closely with the startups through follow up 1-1 clinics to deliver tailored feedback to each startup (60 minutes for each of the 3 startups) on their MVP roadmap, solution feasibility, risks, architecture timeline and cost
  • The tech trainer will also assist the startups who have questions about their solution feasibility and implementation while connecting them to tech vendors (hardware and/or software)
  • The tech trainer needs to represent Berytech’s culture while working with startups and collaborate closely with the specialists and the DAWERR project manager
  • The tech trainer needs to document and communicate the outcomes and findings to the DAWERR project manager by filling forms set by the later

 

Workshop Details

The workshop will deliver foundational knowledge to founders on how to develop their MVP:

  • MVP scoping
  • Design thinking
  • Workshop length is of 4 hours divided into 2 or more sessions to be delivered online
  • Sessions are expected to be highly interactive, customized to the profile of the entrepreneurs
  • Entrepreneurs will need to submit specific deliverables that will be reviewed by the  trainer for feedback during the 1-1 clinic session

 

Outcome

Founders will understand how and what to build, what are the stages of MVP, what are the elements covered in an MVP roadmap. back end- front end, hosting, cycle of UI/UX , technology to be used, what programming language, what platform to start on (web, iOS, android,…) how to create user stories and wireframes

 Key Deliverables:

  • PowerPoint Presentation for the workshop
  • MVP roadmap document/template to assist the 3 teams in developing their own document
  • Product requirements template for startups to fill out
  • Tools, templates and resources to share with the teams
  • 3 feedback documents (one per team) for Berytech’s Management on the startups’ status and improvement points (following the clinics)
Qualifications

 

  • Experienced in delivering online trainings with a minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Experienced product manager with 5 years of experience in product ideation stages, discovery, functionality, and features
  • Experience working with early-stage startup
  • Knowledgeable of various hardware/ software product development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum and others
  • Natural leadership skills and highly collaborative team-player who can quickly build trust
  • Effective communicator with any audience in an organized, professional manner.
  • Creative problem-solver with thorough attention to detail.
  • Desire to deeply understand and empathize with our users.

 

Selection criteria

 

Expert trainers will be selected based on:

  • The proposal and methodology suggested and its fit for the program’s objectives.
  • Expert bio, proven track records and experience in the required field
  • Budget scope
