Context & Background

 

About the program: “The Generation of Innovation Leaders/GIL” is a program by UNICEF designed to address the high unemployment rates among youth in Lebanon & their lack of access to the knowledge economy. UNICEF is implementing this project in partnership with Berytech.

About Berytech: A leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.  Under the GIL project, Berytech aims to Increase access of Lebanese and non-Lebanese youth (17-25 years) to technical and vocational training and innovative skills-building programs for improved professional readiness and employability.

About GIL Innovation Labs: UNICEF Innovation Lab Network Programme (GIL – Generation of Innovation Leaders) is a network of 13 innovation labs all over Lebanon that aims at the provision of two sets of skills: Design Thinking and Business Development Skills (Social Entrepreneurship) and Digital Skills training tailored for youth in Lebanon. Engaging young people in their communities is a priority for UNICEF to address social cohesion challenges among different communities, and to support and empower youth to engage in healthy lifestyles and become more civically engaged. Since 2017, UNICEF has reached over 50,000 adolescents and youth with integrated and structured life skills, sports for development, and positive leadership programs.

Scope of work

 

We are looking for technology trainers with relevant industry experience, to deliver online Technology workshops for GIL beneficiaries covering theory and practical applications of technologies. The Trainers shall be assigned specific workshops to deliver based on expertise. As the beneficiaries are youth aged 17 to 25, the Trainers must have the energy, enthusiasm, and ability to share their skills and knowledge, besides the technical expertise. Effective communication skills are vital to delivering these workshops efficiently and professionally.

Responsibilities

 

Design and implement effective online workshops on the below topics:

  • Cybersecurity (1 session)
  • Machine Learning (2 sessions)
  • IOT (1 session)
  • Data Science (1 session)
  • Artificial intelligence (2 sessions)
  • Web3 (2 sessions)
  • Graphic Design on Canva (5 sessions)
  • Product Photography (5 sessions)
  • ECommerce listing on marketplace (1 session)
  • ECommerce website setup (2 sessions)

The sessions are expected to be divided into two parts; concepts and applications.

Trainer is expected to:

  • Develop a concise, impactful 2-hour workshop with an overview of key concepts.
  • Prepare course materials, presentations, and resources to be sent out after the session.
  • Focus on real life applications of the technology discussed.
  • Conduct the workshop, focusing on engaging and informative content.
  • Encourage participant interaction and questions.
Requirements

 

  • Language: Arabic and English (verbal and written)
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in the field of training.
  • Practical experience in the field being trained.
  • Experience working with marginalized communities.
  • Work Experience: minimum 3 years experience in the technology sector.
  • Clear communication and adaptability to different audiences.
  • Flexibility to adjust training to meet learners' needs.
