About the program: “The Generation of Innovation Leaders/GIL” is a program by UNICEF designed to address the high unemployment rates among youth in Lebanon & their lack of access to the knowledge economy. UNICEF is implementing this project in partnership with Berytech.
About Berytech: A leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and the company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon. Under the GIL project, Berytech aims to Increase access of Lebanese and Non-Lebanese youth (17-25 years) to technical and vocational training and innovative skills building programs for improved professional readiness and employability.
About GIL Innovation Labs: UNICEF Innovation Lab Network Programme (GIL – Generation of Innovation Leaders) is a network of 13 innovation labs all over Lebanon that aims at the provision of two sets of skills: Design Thinking and Business Development Skills (Social Entrepreneurship) and Digital Skills training tailored for youth in Lebanon. Engaging young people in their communities is a priority for UNICEF to address social cohesion challenges among different communities, and to support and empower youth to engage in healthy lifestyles and become more civically engaged. Since 2017, UNICEF has reached over 50,000 adolescents and youth with integrated and structured life skills, sport for development and positive leadership programs.
About GIL Fab Labs: UNICEF is working on implementing 3 open-access digital fabrication labs in three innovation labs for students, professionals, artists, techies, entrepreneurs, and makers across Lebanon. The Fab Labs empower them with the latest digital manufacturing technologies and a vast array of resources to create, fabricate, and transform their ideas into working prototypes and innovative products.
Scope of work
We are currently seeking Software and Digital Fabrication trainers with relevant industry experience, to deliver trainings for GIL beneficiaries covering the theory and practical applications. The Trainers shall be assigned specific modules to deliver within the training plan. As the beneficiaries are youth aged between 17 and 25, it is essential that the Trainers have the energy, enthusiasm, and ability to share their skills and knowledge, besides the technical expertise. Effective communication skills are vital to delivering these workshops efficiently and professionally.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement effective training content based on the provided syllabus in the following topics:
- Rhinoceros 3D (Level1 , and level 2)
- Arduino (Level1 , and level 2)
- Autocad (Level 2)
- Fusion (Level 2)
- Adobe Illustrator (Level 2)
- Help the trainees develop mini projects and exercises for practical exposure.
- Coordinate all workshop details with the Berytech team.
- Provide learners with crucial feedback in English and Arabic.
- Work cooperatively with the trainees.
- Monitor the trainees’ progress during the sessions.
- Ability to deliver the course content using a combination of practical tutorials.
- Software mastery and demonstrated instructional delivery skills.
- Knowledge of standard drafting practices and procedures.
- Proven work experience as a Trainer.
- Proven experience in online teaching using softwares like Zoom and Teams.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to model, deliver, and craft rich student-centered learning experiences.
- Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format.
