SCOPE OF WORK
Key responsibilities:
The accelerator manager will be completely responsible for leading the technical support and operations of the program. This would be inclusive of the following:
- Overall planning the activities alongside the program manager, resources, skills and operations of the program.
- Pre-incubation: Deal Flow generation, Screening of proposals, Research, Patent landscaping, working with entrepreneurs for their proposals, resenting proposals to the next level for selecting incubates.
- Acceleration and Incubation: Lead formation of new business and provide incubation facilities to enable commercialization of the business: To induct new entrepreneurs; create Incubation plans and implement them, assist in writing business plans, keep track of the Incubation process; help the startups prepare proposals for getting funding, etc.
- Remain up-to-date on the latest international technology trends and developments in the smart agri-food industry
- Ensure that the projects are on the cutting edge of smart agri-food technologies
- Assist program members in setting project objectives and deadlines
- Oversee the projects’ implementation of each program member
- Events and workshops: Plan various t workshops/events/webinars for the Incubator, and execute the same with the help of team members and external consultants
- Mentor Network: support the program manager in developing the mentor network for the Incubator and work with them to make the Incubated venture successful.
- Partnerships: support the program manager to forge partnerships with other organizations for providing services to the startups or the organization; marketing the program, sponsorships…etc. Liaison with the government and industries.
- Participate in all required reports by providing input on support provided an impact made.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Passionate about innovation and knowledgeable about new technologies and trends
- Knowledge in Scrum, Six Sigma, or Lean Management
- Ability to quickly ‘get up the curve’ on various business models and industries, and provide ‘value-add’ advice
- Assertive personality that can manage multiple project teams
- Project management skills at least 3 years of experience.
- Team building, Training and coaching skills
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills, a connector, with genuine interest in supporting the success of others
- Understanding of what makes successful businesses
- Fluent in Arabic and English (oral and written) – French is a plus
- Able to influence in a highly matrixed and rapidly changing environment
- Experience of life sciences/ agri-food sector desirable Skills
