Translation- Social Entrepreneurship Ecosystem (SEE) Change

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

SEE Change Consortium, formed of Oxfam, COSV, and Beyond Group (BG) is implementing the Social Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Change (SEE Change) project funded by the EU. The project focuses on Social Entrepreneurship (SE) as a tool to support local development and enhance social stability. The consortium aims to strengthen social enterprises (SEs) to respond to the social and economic situation in Lebanon and advance the legal and institutional framework for SE.

Under the SEE Change project, Beyond Group is building SEEN - a digital platform (seenplatform.com) to support the growth of social enterprises in Lebanon and the MENA region under its innovation and technology practice. The platform is designed to serve as a one stop shop for social entrepreneurship support by developing support communities, offering access to industry expertise and utilising dynamic and smart technologies to facilitate access to tailored services based on Social Entrepreneurs needs.

OBJECTIVES:

The purpose of this assignment is to translate the content of a digital platform from English to Arabic, in order to make it accessible to Arabic-speaking users. The SEE Change Project is soliciting quotations for these services from a professional translator or translation agency who have the capabilities and qualifications to provide the service detailed in the below scope of work and timeline of the assignment.

SCOPE OF WORK:

The scope of work includes the translation of all text-based content on the digital platform, including but not limited to:

● User interface elements (buttons, menus, etc.)

● Help and support materials

● Product descriptions, landing page content and specifications

● Marketing and promotional materials

● Legal and regulatory content

The total Number of words estimated for translation is 12,500 words, to be translated from English to Arabic:

● Deliverables: The deliverables for this project will include translated versions of all text-based content on the digital platform, provided in a format that will be agreed upon together with Beyond Group. The translated content should be of high quality, accurately reflecting the meaning and tone of the original English content, and in line with a glossary of terms related to the social entrepreneurship ecosystem which will be provided to the supplier.

● Timeline: The timeline for this project will be determined in consultation with the translator or translation agency. The translator or agency should provide an estimated timeline for completion of the project, taking into account the volume and complexity of the content to be translated. A sample of the content can be found on www.seenplatform.com

● Quality Assurance: The translated content will be subject to a quality assurance process, including review by a native Arabic speaker to ensure accuracy and fluency. Any errors or inconsistencies identified during the review process should be corrected by the translator or agency.

● Confidentiality: The translator or agency will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement to protect the privacy and security of the digital platform's content and user information.

● Revisions: The translator or agency will be responsible for revising any translated content that does not meet the quality standards set forth in this scope of work. Revisions should be completed in a timely manner, and at no additional cost.

QUALIFICATIONS:

● Language proficiency: The translator or agency must have native-level proficiency in Arabic and advanced proficiency in English, with a strong understanding of the nuances of both languages.

● Relevant experience: The translator or agency should have a proven track record of providing high-quality translation services, preferably in the digital or technology sector. Experience in translating user interface elements, technical documentation, and marketing materials is highly desirable.

● Subject matter expertise: The translator or agency should have a good understanding of the subject matter of the digital platform content, in order to accurately convey the meaning and tone of the original English content.

● Quality assurance: The translator or agency should have a well-established quality assurance process to ensure that translations are accurate, consistent, and of high quality.

● Confidentiality: The translator or agency should have a strict policy regarding data confidentiality
