Psycho-Social Support Field Activator

Background:

Blue Mission is an independent Lebanese organization based in Saida that promotes and protects the rights of vulnerable populations.
Blue Mission Organization uses a holistic approach, combining programs that target not only refugees, internally-displaced people (IDP) and vulnerable segments of the Lebanese community, but also the community as a whole, including the volunteers, activators and mobilizers working with vulnerable populations. We support the empowerment of individuals to become actors of change that work for the sustainable culture of peace.

The PSS activator will be responsible of using a planned curriculum to provide a safe environment in the field to help children explore, address and deal with a range of personal and social determinents. With uses of training techniques such as games, role plays, card sorts, children's book and other curriculum activities. 

Main responsibilities and tasks: 

Displaying adherence to organization’s mission.

Maintaining proficient knowledge of organization’s history and programs.

Lead children's activities 

Creating weekly/monthly curriculum

Providing capacity building for activators for outreach activities, on Child protection, detect and 

Take referrals for, and liaise with psychologists, social worker and project manager. 

Report to Project Manager with weekly and Monthly reports 

Maintaining records in hard copies and computer databases.

Education and professional experience:

University degree in psychological health or relevant subjects 

At least 3-5 years of experience in related field

Desirable previous experience with NGO

Required Skills:

Adherence to Blue Mission’s values, policies and protocol and capacity to enforce procedures

Ability to conduct and coordinate training and participatory assessments

Focused, confident, and observant, reliable and confidential

Good understanding of the Lebanese humanitarian context, and specifically the South governorate

Having worked with vulernable communities. 

Arabic native speaker and very good proficiency in English, written and oral

Strong communication and organization skills

Very good knowledge of the Microsoft Office, including Google Docs

Team work and cooperation

Creative, open-minded, flexible, self-learner

Capacity to work under pressure and manage personal stress levels

Ability to prioritise clearly and oversee multiple tasks

Delivering other tasks as delegated as required for the project
