KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Program implementation/management
- Work closely with the Project Manager to plan and oversee the timely implementation of Education projects in Ouzai Community Centers
- Communicate program objectives and activity plans to staff and other stakeholders.
- implement quality and relevant education programs as per assessments’ results and as per tools and guidelines developed by the team;
- Identify areas of implementation according to the field’s needs through outreach activities and coordination with other education actors;
- Provide educators in Borderless with relevant curriculum, including objectives and expected learning outcomes, and ensure they are following Borderless education standards.
- Contribute to donor reports and ensure that internal reporting is of quality and follows Borderless processes.
Program design/development
- Lead the monitoring and evaluation process of the non-formal Education activities;
- Feed into the design of activities according to implementation lessons learned and community feedback,.
- Regularly visit program sites to ensure that parents and the community at large are appropriately supported and qualitative and quantitative program objectives are achieved.
Team management and capacity building
- Identify staffing needs and participate in the recruitment processes for the Education program in the Borderless.
- Support the educators’ recruitment process and lead on it when relevant.
- Take accountability for own and team’s performance and development following Perform guidelines;
- Willing to be trained as a Master Trainer as per program needs and to deliver Training of Trainers for Borderless and education staff.
- Provide Borderless Education staff with capacity-building training as per performance management and needs.
Partnerships management
- Facilitate induction and training sessions, and roll out the capacity-building plans for the team;
- Ensure that data is accurately collected by Teachers and reported according to the provided guidelines;
- Support the program team in implementing operational work plans and setting clear targets and activity plans;
- Clearly communicate targets, program objectives, and activity plans to the[u1] team and focal points;
- Control and support implementation of compliance requirements; and
- Oversee and work with partner’s staff to review monthly progress reports.
- Coordination and External relationships/Representation
- Build and maintain positive relationships with (I) NGOs, local governance structures, and relevant UN agencies;
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Science, or other related fields;
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Good understanding of quality education, including child-centered, inclusive, and active learning methods
- Good planning and reporting skills
- Excellent MS Office skills
- At least five years’ experience in education
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. A prior proven track record in successful coaching is an asset
- Commitment to and understanding of Borderless aims, values, and principles including rights-based approaches
- An understanding of formal and non-formal education and Education in Emergencies
- Ability to analyze information, evaluate options and plan strategically
- Proven track record in managing teams and timely and quality delivery of educational programs
- Demonstrated ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data and to develop databases and data collection tools
- Experience working at the community level with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Prior experience as a Master Trainer and/or in capacity building or coaching of educators.
- Prior teaching experience.
- Prior experience in a similar position with a local or international NGO.
