Business Development Manager For Examinations Services

Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:   This is a new post and one which will play a critical role in the continued expansion of the British Council Lebanon’s exams business.   As part of the role you will be expected to deliver the following:   ·         Drive forward and achieve new business opportunities for the examinations products that the British Council and its partners offer.  Included in this you will be expected to meet and exceed agreed sales and income targets year-on-year. ·         Analyse the competitive environment, conduct necessary market and customer research, (stakeholder analysis and risk modelling) and identify and explore opportunities for new markets and business growth. ·         Understand barriers to entry into new markets and that these criteria are reviewed on a regular basis as well as developing a strategic plan to address and overcome these. ·         Develop and maintain a database of potential clients and stakeholders across a range of sectors and liaise closely with colleagues across the business to ensure joint promotion of our services where appropriate. ·         Develop and maintain effective working relationships that are recognised as high quality and adding value with targeted clients, partners and stakeholders. Pro-actively seek feedback in variety of mediums from all stakeholders and act accordingly to advise improvements in standards, service and product delivery. ·         Liaise closely with the Country Examinations Manager, the Examinations Services Manager and regional country marketing and communications functions in the development and delivery of a marketing plan and sales strategy for Aptis, Cambridge ESOL and IELTS products in Lebanon which will ensure we meet agreed income and impact targets both at a regional and national level. In liaison with the Country Examinations Manager, the Examinations Services Manager and regional/country marketing and communications functions, develop and implement communications plan for IELTS and all exams products that ensures consistent and effective messaging and branding, including social media engagement to drive new business. Be the lead for Exams Services on presentation of examinations products to potential clients and partners and on the arrangements for exhibitions and events. Be the primary point of contact and relationship owner of high value stakeholders / customers to ensure repeat business and ongoing growth with existing partners. Seek out and develop new high value strategic and commercial relationships across the marketplace with a clearly defined plan to increase market share balanced with cost v reward.
