Research Associate

The “Research Associate” will provide support for the full life cycle of the research assignment  and implementation, from conceptualization and design to field-level implementation, analysis, and report writing.

Under the supervision of the Technical Team Leader and in collaboration with other staff and associates, the “Research Associate” will perform the below responsibilities:

  • Assist the technical Team Lead to research topics identified in projects.
  • Support the design of research methodologies to address key research questions.
  • Support the development of quantitative and qualitative data collection tools for projects covering a range of subject matters, including but not limited to, governance, social and economic issues, livelihood, and macro-economics.
  • Conduct desk research and field research on multiple topics.
  • Support the coordination and facilitation of focus group discussions, key informant interviews, and surveys.
  • Compile, analyze, and synthesize research data using appropriate statistical and qualitative analysis tools.
  • Prepare comprehensive research reports, detailing methodologies, data analysis, and research key findings.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of research activities and outcomes.
  • Provide support to other senior experts in their research and reports writing when needed.
  • Qualifications & Competencies

Education

Minimum bachelor's degree in economics, political science, social science, or related social development field.

Experience

2-5 years of relevant work experience in research and research methodology.

Competencies

  • Demonstrably skills in research and synthesize of social research topics. 
  • Proficiency in using data management systems such as Python, SPSS, and other specialized softwares for data analysis and management.
  • Demonstrably experience in using social research software and can translate information into info graphic presentations. 
  • Demonstrably skills in writing reports in English, Arabic and/or French would be an added value for CLIC.  
  • Demonstrably skills in conducting field work, FGD, KIIs, consultations, observations. 
  • Ability to multi task research and writing responsibilities.
