  1. Background of the Organization

 

CARE  is  an international humanitarian and development organization without  religious,  political  or government affiliation. CARE is committed to protecting and promoting the rights of vulnerable girls and boys, women and men and improving the lives of refugees and host communities alike.

 

CARE works at national, municipality and at the community level to develop customized solutions and ensure long-term sustainability as well as respond to basic needs. We design projects that fall into alignment with national priorities and be owned by communities. Our interventions range across clean water, affordable sanitation and community healthcare and sexual and reproductive health rights programs, economic opportunities, and protection.  Across program areas, CARE’s activities are guided by a rights-based, holistic, gender-sensitive/transformative, and inclusive approach.

 

CARE International has been operational in Lebanon since 2013 and works across the country.

 

  1. Terms of Reference

 

CARE International in Lebanon is seeking an Advocacy specialist to design key messages, deliver TOT advocacy training, mentor several NGOS for advocacy campaigns and the best ways to impact the community. Develop material will be the property of CARE International in Lebanon. High knowledge in Tripoli context.

  1. Deliverables

 

  • Create Key messages through workshop and meeting with Local CBOs
  • Design planning for advocacy campaigns based on a community approach
  • Design and implement TOT training for Care international and partners
  • Mentor staff and partners on advocacy strategies and campaigns
  • Strengthen strategic advocacy networks and identify new opportunities to advocate

 

Other functions may be identified as part of the conceptualization and consultation process.

 

 

  1. Qualifications
  • Bachelor or masters degree in Political Sciences, Journalism, Law, or any other relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience from working as an Advocacy consultant in a humanitarian/development context
  • Professional knowledge of humanitarian and protection principles
  • Communications management, including internal communications and communicating with communities
  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Experiencing planning and overseeing communications and media planning
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of the context in Tripoli
