CALL FOR Videographer

1. Background of the Organization

CARE is an international humanitarian and development organization without religious, political or government affiliation. CARE is committed to protecting and promoting the rights of vulnerable girls and boys, women and men and improving the lives of refugees and host communities alike.

CARE works at national, municipality and at the community level to develop customized solutions and ensure long-term sustainability as well as respond to basic needs. We design projects that fall into alignment with national priorities and be owned by communities. Our interventions range across clean water, affordable sanitation and community healthcare and sexual and reproductive health rights programs, economic opportunities, and protection.  Across program areas, CARE’s activities are guided by a rights-based, holistic, gender-sensitive/transformative, and inclusive approach.

CARE International has been operational in Lebanon since 2013 and works across the country.

2. Terms of Reference

CARE is seeking a videographer / production company to conduct a short video for a sports club and a gym, that is need for boosting its visibility, and communicating the wide range of newly developed services as well as the successful history of achievements.  The small enterprise will be supported to create a material for advertising exposure. 

A stimulating 2-mins fully edited Full HD video will be produced to advertise SPACT activities. (Advertising services and introducing club)

The videographer is expected to undertake the following tasks and ensure deliverables:

-          Develop the video’s concept and storyboard, based on script outline.

It may include interviewing Club Owner, athletes, and other trainers/coaches.

-          Narrate, edit and produce a high-quality version of the scripted video based on interviews conducted and other collected material. The video may include visuals, graphics/animations, statistics and photographs.

-          Provide transcripts of interviews.

-          Provide Royalty free music and sound effects as needed.

-          Input English and Arabic subtitles according to time codes.

-          Three Exports: 2 for Web / Instagram use for 59 Sec, and one full video of 2 min.

-          Recognized voice Over (to be discussed further).

-          Ensure that all the work produced meets CARE partners’ criteria, standards and visibility guidelines.

3. Qualifications:

Expertise Required and Prequalification

The production companies/ videographer applying will be evaluated against the following criteria:

• Experience in working with other organizations and NGOs locally or regionally
• More than seven years of working experience in development of documentary/film production/animation.
• Additional experience in development communication and mass communication will be an added advantage;
• Clear articulation of capacity and skill, and innovative approaches to carry out the assignment;
• Clear work plan and articulation of expected methodologies and outputs
• Excellent technical capacities to ensure smooth and high quality production
• To Have a good eye for detail and beauty. Possessing skills to tell visual stories with video and audio recorded during various events. Mainly the following specific skills:
• Computer skills –computer skills to work with various video editing software programs.
• Interpersonal skills –excellent interpersonal skills to work with people helping them feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera
• Time management –skills to work within tight deadlines, capturing action and once-in-a-lifetime moments on camera
• Multitasking – because capturing many different moments, people, and expressions on camera, we look for professionals with multitasking skills to fill this role
• Communication skills –provide direction to capture the right moments on camera, which requires good verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail –keen attention to detail to make precise edits to captured video and stage beautiful scenes for filming purposes
• Very good communication, coordination and diplomacy.
• Integrity, fairness and impartiality.
• Ability to manage sensitive cases and confidential information.
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to start immediately

Desirable

• Experience in local livelihoods and economic development programmes
• Strong capacity to interface with local communities and with beneficiary groups.

4. Timeframe

The timeframe allowed for this project is a maximum of 15 to 17 days including time needed for initial interviews, preparation time, shooting, editing, revisions and final product delivery.
