Care international in Lebanon (CIL) is implementing a regional response to the Syrian Crisis to meet the immediate and most urgent needs of the women, men, boys and girls who have fled Syria. CARE International in Lebanon (CIL) is supporting local communities with their longer-term needs and basic rights through WASH, Shelter, Protection, and longer term economic development solutions and activities in collaboration with local partner organizations in the North, South, Beirut, and Mount Lebanon Governorates. 

Working Conditions:

Contract for 2 nonconsecutive training days only

Duration of Contract:

1 Month (only 2 working days)

The direct supervisor reserves the right to adapt this job description at any time during employment according to needs.

Any extension of this contract is dependent on performance review and funding availability.

Proven Experience:

At least 3 years previous experience in Excel training

IT / Software / Skills:

Familiarity with MS Office software

Competencies

Strong capacities in Microsoft Excel.

Microsoft Office Certification (MOS) in Excel is a plus

Very good communication, coordination and diplomacy.

Ability to manage sensitive cases and confidential information.

Ability to work under pressure.

Detailed Responsibilities & Tasks

Develop training course modules for 2 sessions of 3 hours each :

Formulas and Functions in Excel:

Use the SUM function to calculate totals, calculate the AVERAGE, COUNT, MIN, and MAX of a column or row of numbers, use the AND, OR, and NOT functions, apply conditional logic using the IF function,

handle errors using IFERROR, create a formula and named cell range and use functions to perform calculations, create basic formulas, recognize Microsoft Excel formula operators recognize the order of operations, create named cell ranges, use named cell ranges in formulas.

PowerPivot, Custom Formatting, Fills, and Forms

Create and populate a PivotTable using Power Pivot, create a custom number format, create a custom date and time format, create a custom accounting format, create a custom fill series, create custom conditional formatting rules, modify custom conditional formatting rules, apply complex filtering criteria to data, use custom formats, filters, and fill series when working with data, configure Power Pivot and import data into a Microsoft Excel Workbook, create a PivotTable using Power Pivot.

Act as facilitator and guide during training sessions as well as to contribute actively to the exchange of views and practical experiences with participants;

Train CARE staff on Excel.

Training sessions must incorporate interactive methods of learning through a mix of practical activities, theory, group works and case studies for better understanding of ordinary staff members who never developed any project proposals;

Presentations should be delivered comprehensively laying stress on the all aspects of effective project proposal and reports writing, with focus on the latest developments and modern approaches used in other countries;

Presentations should include practical experience and interaction to stimulate critical discussion and thinking.

The candidate is supposed to provide the outline and curriculum of the training during the Interview for evaluation.

Qualifications:

Master’s or bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science field or equivalent.

At least 3 years previous experience in Advanced Excel training in INGOs.

Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.

Ability to take initiative and work independently.

Deliverables

Design training course materials (module, presentations, hand-outs, etc.);

Draft and finalize detailed agenda of the training course including all practical sessions and exercises;

Final report, which shall include the outcomes of the workshop and recommendations based on the participants feedback.
